SOTD Saturday 26th September to Friday 2nd October 2020.

Evening all, I hope you're all well.

Brush - 26mm Yaqi Timberwolf
Soap - Exto Cos Egyptian Oud
Razor - Rockwell 6S (R4)
Blade - Gillette Rubie #1
Post - Alum Block EJ Limes and Pomegranate Balm
Splash - OSP Neroli

Well I decided to shave the beard off this evening, went down to 0.5 with a trimmer then let the Rockwell loose.
I'm very pleased with the way it went this evening, the razor paired well with the blade and the soap and brush combo created a great lather.
All I'm left with now is a moustache and a George Michael bum ticker on my chin. Am I allowed to say that? Not sure, but I did anyway.

Have a great evening gentleman.

Garry

A nice 2 pass shave with the 6C and Ladas blade not as smooth as the Rapira Swedish SS and the Old Spice is a nice match for the eau de baux

Ad photographers often cheat by using shaving soap to replicate ice cream because it doesn't melt in the studio. NatJag cheats by using ice cream instead of shaving soap because it looks good in photos and he gets hungry during a shave:rolleyes:
I think he learned this from @chard52142 ;)
I certainly was inspired by @chard52142's Mr Whippy pictures.

Ad photographers often cheat
This is entirely true - in my experience - my first job - before they let me loose with my Nikons into the wider world - was in a commercial studio - a fair chunk of the work was food photography - Christmas pudding - to satisfy people's expectations - we used to set fire to them with liquid lighter fuel - brandy flames don't register on film properly - ice cream? Mashed potato dyed the appropriate shade by the food tech. The prime directive - if you were taking the picture of a finished dish - for a cook book - that sort of thing - it had to be shot from a top down angle - as if you were just about to pick up a knife and fork and get stuck in. Don't believe everything you see. I.

Cheating, in the context of art, can also reflect creative genius. Photography, TV, cinema...and the Shaving Room:cool::sneaky:(y)

Greetings,

Starting October off in style with a face & head shave using my vintage Gillette tech paired together with the Indian Gillette 7'O Clock SP which has excelled itself feeling smooth and efficient with each shave throughout the week.

The design of both the flat bottom & ball end techs seems to hold the blade more rigidly making both vintage ladies a joy shave with.

A pleasurable near BBS face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling of old school divine goodness.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Day ladies & gentlemen.

This is my second Shave with this particular ER 1924, as I have passed my usual one to a friend. I was not happy with yesterdays Shave, a very patchy finish. Today I fitted it with a new blade, and though the quality of finish was good, I found this 1924 to be a bit more aggressive than my old one. I expect that that eventually I will get used to it and Shaves will be a bit more comfortable.

Brush - Omega 11819 (24mm/55mm)
Soap - Tabac Stick
Razor - Flat Bottom Tech
Blade - Treet Platinum (1)
Post - Witch Hazel/Alum
Balm - Nivea Cool Kick
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum w/Pimento

First shave of the new month, really in the midst of Autumn now and the year's 3/4 behind us, what a strange old year it's been so far and sadly the strangeness seems unlikely to subside for the forseeable future.
For the next month (Tabactober!) I am planning to use just Tabac as my only shaving soap, but I fall off the Tabac wagon at some point. I'm going to use the opportunity to keep my lathers as consistent as possible so I can test a few blades either because I haven't used them before or I used a few before, liked them and have been considering buying some more in bulk. For testing the blades, I will use my to rotation of go to razors, from mild to efficient - Old Type, Fat Handle Tech, Flat Bottom Tech, Ball End Tech, Sportsman Tech & New OC
The first blade to be tested is a blade I have used before and quite liked, the Treet Platinum, which I remember for being quite a smooth and efficient blade and paired it with my Flat Bottom Tech, which is one of the more efficient Techs I own and in hindsight I'd have gone the Fat Handle instead, as the Treet Platinum was sharper than I expected. The results were great in the shave though, very smooth and efficient and the results were great, but I did manage to pick up a small weeper under lip for my first pass, and needed to get the alum block to close it up.
A great lather with the 11819 and Tabac, rubbed the stick on my chin/jaws/sideburns and built enough of a slick and glossy lather for 2.5 passes. I'm loving my Omega 11819 boar brush which I think might have 80-100 shaves with it so far and it's fully broken in and as soft as anything, but maybe a little on the floppy side of things now.
Finished the shave with some Benjamins Bay Rum with Pimento splash, which of the few Benjamins Bay Rum splashes I own has the strongest scent of them, but still quite mild in comparison to the other splashes I own.

Anyway Gents, I hope you have a good start to the new month and a good day.
