A relaxing Williams Super-lather sunday shave.

The efficient smoothness of the indian gillette 7'0 clock sp matched up with the mild non-aggressive Tech S4 wonderfully making my sunday shave a pleasurable experience.

Another very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups DFS /near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

I've found that this razor works best for me with two passes - WTG and ATG. I think the blade is on its decline now but I'm curious to see how long it will go on for.

The SV 4.3 base is exceptional. Always an excellent lather from it.

Saturday 26th September

Brush : YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Soap : Zoya Vetyver
Razor : Rockwell 6C R4
Blade : Ladas (3)
Post : Brut Original ASL

This Zoya soap came as part of a soap bundle, and had been sat unwrapped in its cardboard box for well over three years
I kept meaning to try it some day, and never got around to it - until now. . . .
I grated and pressed the small 75g puck into a small plastic Tupperware type bowl in the morning before my evening shave.
To my surprise it still has it's mild Vetyver scent, and makes a thick, peaky lather.
Looking online it seems it has now been discontinued - which is a shame as it really is a good performing soap.

It was a good way to start a Sunday morning; enjoy the rest of the weekend, folks.

A shave with the theme being 'The shitting show'

IMG_20200926_160419.jpg

1924. Not the most eventful of years, but a few notable happenings included:

The first ever broadcasting of the Shipping forecast. And still as important today to us old sea dogs as ever. More commonly known to us mariners as 'The shitting show'

John Logie Baird sends rude moving pictures over a short distance. Later to become YouPorn. Oooops. Rudimentary pictures.

Ever Ready still moving away from batteries add a 12 to their original razor and invent the 1924. Later in the 2000's someone converts them to fit a standard modern handle as no one in 1924 had ever heard of metric with Britain remaining imperialistic and swamping the world with obscure thread sizes.

Razor - Ever Ready 1924 on a stainless Mongoose handle
Blade - The one ad only Gem
Brush - Yaqi Dandelion
Soap - Czech and Speake 88
Aftershave balm - Brimble and Hawkins

A first time out for the very kindly donated 1924 complete with a conversion on the thread to take a modern handle. In this case the very beautiful stainless Mongoose. Much like the 1912 it again looks like an agricultural implement for garden gnomes. Physically not that dismilar to each other but I do think the 12 appears to have more blade exposure. To this effect I found the 1912 to have a more efficient stance. Then again the 24 I am finding is a little more fussy over the angle and I don't think I have found its optimum so far.

In context though a smashing shave was had even if I didn't quite think it delivered the same final finish as the 1912. But it still needs time to get to know it better.

Gem? It is. What else is there?
And what do you know about razors?

Not super smooth then but well worthy of an early Christmas present

Why hello

So from 1924 to the 2000's and let's have some of those Japanese girls. And for this Sunday morning some Mary's Blood

Have a lovely day you folk and a most pleasant and safe, healthy week ahead

Very different Razor Chris , you don't see many new razors based around the GEM blades.

Got to agree with you on the 4.3 base too , just a really quality soap.

27/9/20

Brush - Omega 11819
Soap - Arko Puck
Razor - 1972 Sportsman Tech head on Ball End Tech Handle
Blade - Supermax Blue Diamond Platinum (3)
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Cool Kick Balm
AS - Barbon

I didn't load enough soap so my lather was a little thin but still managed to push it the distance to squeeze enough lather for 2.5 passes. The zamak Tech head is a touch more efficient than the Ball End Tech I used yesterday but it worked well with the blade.

Have a good Sunday gents.

Pre: Face wash with Whickams pre shave soap
Brush: Alpha Ti Outlaw G4 Synth
Soap: Maca Root/Palmolive stick Superlather
Razor: PILS 101NL "Thor's Hammer"
Blade: Gillette Stainless (5)
Post shave: Cold water splash, L'oreal Ice Impact
Balm: Barts Balm Lime Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Vintage Ferd. Mülhens Vintage 4711 EDC

A wonderfully smooth 3 pass shave with "Thor's Hammer" paired with the 5 shave Gillette Stainless (Red?) blade.
A great face lather from the Superlather concoction mixed up with the Alpha Outlaw, i really enjoy using this brush.
The PILS razor is a fantastic shaver, IMO better built than the Feather AS-D2, the shaving angle being not as critical making finding a personal preference easier and as smooth as butter on a warm day.

The Downer!
I just cannot get away with my soap dish since i broke it, the chips and crack just bug the life out of me, therefore i have commissioned another from Sue at Bideford potteries to match my mixing bowl, just a 6 weeks to wait for my new one.

So, super smooth, smelling good, morning chores done and ready for a bit chill out.

Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

No danger of this beautiful brush not loading enough soap. Lather in spades for this morning's two pass shave. The Ikon bamboo handle seems to be a good match for the MÜHLE head, it may become a permanent modification.

Dedicated to the soap enablers. They know who they are!!!!
I can now appreciate what the guys were talking about. This soap really delivers.
Easy to lather from the bowl. Slickness and cushion are top notch. Would put cinnamon above lavender in the scent ranking. And yes the post shave is great.
And as for the price :)
Actually, I was more than happy, as I got an unintended 2 for 1 from Amazon. But that's another story.
Happy Sunday!!
