Having yet again favoured the L2 yesterday, I thought the L1 was being unfairly treated, so out it came today.
Not a bad shave at all, I find it similar to the ER Pushbutton, three full passes and pick ups required.
The Wickham's soap and balm were of course excellent.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Tuesday

Phoenix and Beau Star Noir
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Fa Tip Piccolo
Personna Israeli Red
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Alt-Innsbruck EdC
Al-Rehab Silver

Whilst the Personna blade can be a bit tame in milder (smooth) razors, for me it really delivers with the mightily efficient Fa Tip. An incredibly close, smooth 3 pass shave aided and abetted by the Star Noir; which gives a beautiful rich lather.

I don't have the finely attuned nose of perfumistas but a few years ago, Mrs Scotshave got me a bottle of Creed's Silver Mountain Water for Xmas. It really is my favourite scent; but it does not last on me. For that price, I expected more longevity. I thought perhaps it was a faulty batch, but, a few weeks ago whilst being a flaneur around town, I popped into John Lewis and sprayed a bit on my wrist. 30 minutes later, I could detect much.

The point to this essay is that (with the nasal caveat referred to above) I honestly can't tell the difference between SMW and the Al-Rehab. Plus, the latter lasts one helluva lot longer

Edit: ‘...I couldn't detect much.'

Maseto Memphis 2 Band Finest
Gillette Tech
Voskhod (3)
La Savonniere du Moulin
Nivea 2 Phase & Aqua Velva

A pretty good shave today, I swear I felt the blade dig into my cheek, expecting a blood bath there was nothing. I certainly felt it dig in. Been a while since I used this soap, one of the best in my opinion. Certainly a top tier soap and well worth the little extra cost.

A top tier soap it certainly is, soo creamy and yes worth the extra cost. P.

soap: TFS Crazy Sandalwood FORTE
brush: 24 mm finest badger from Vigshaving in olive wood handle from Bethlehem treated with linsseed oil
razor: Dovo w 1/2 Super-Max Super Platinum (2)

Conclusion after a week with TFS: Best served with synthetic brush, at least for me lathering with badger or boar brush is harder. But when I get it right the veggie formula delivers the goods. Scent is pretty strong, not my cup of tea normally but I actually like it, still the Floris No 89 sample had to wait half an hour or so to avoid an after shave clash.

Cyril Salter Solid Soap
ATT SE1
Schick Proline ( 5 )
Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion

After using Injectors for a few days moved on to a modern SE, which requires a lot more care and attention during a Shave. However, I find that this care is worthwhile,as today the Shave was not only smooth but also face strokingly good.
