SOTD 01/25/20

Woke up to a torrential downpour on this Saturday morning. I was all set for another excellent shave with this razor. I'm thinking, that I'll be trying some other blades in the razor over the next few shaves after completing this shave. Unbeknownst to me, the Feather blade I employed today ended up irritating the back of my head as the alum block and my AS Splash revealed. The fault is mine and not the razor. I have to restrain my eagerness to chase the BBS until my head is completely healed from the Rex encounter. Foolish me irritated the three healing areas by thinking my healing powers were more robust than they actually are! 72 ain't 25! Besides, my birthday shave is coming up on 2/4. In any case my beloved Fat again delivered the goods for a two pass DFS on my face and a tender CCS on the noggin! The Snake Bite finish let me know that I've still a ways to go to completely heal the back of the noggin! I'm going to go without shaving the gourd for a few days to facilitate the healing. I figure by Tuesday, all should be well! In the meantime I'll be sticking to face shaves until then! Happy shaves to all!

PreShave: Warm to hot water, most from the boiled kettle some from the tap
Cream: GFT Eucris
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: The Sledgehammer (Merkur 39C)
Blade 7 O'Clock Yellow (1)

I'd been using the Eucris cream as an occasional weekend cream, and liked its scent. Was by GFT's shop last week and bought a bottle of the Eucris EdP: quite nice and long-lasting. In all, this made for a wonderful shaving experience this morning. Have a good remainder of the weekend, folks.

One pass clean up shave this morning (rushed by Mrs L's desire to go shopping)
While I looked presentable, I wasn't too happy to have to leave it at one pass, and I won't be doing it again !

Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks

Leather, leather...LEATHER! I do believe that there is no more manly a scent than leather except of course motor oil and Hoppe's No. 9! Today I decided to grab the stuff I picked up recently. The Colonial General has been well documented but the other goodies have sat waiting. The razor today the Gillette Rocket HD 500 so good and so smooth a shaver. Fresh Personna Platinum loaded.

Artisan Soaps Leather is so good a scent! More than that! It is a great soap! So good all around! The Simpson Special has no issues working it up to a phenomenal lather.

Beautiful two pass BBS shave! Topped it off with some English Leather AS and Guerlain Derby...man, I love leather and so does Mrs S! Happy Saturday!

Greetings,

A relaxing early sunday morning shave....The J.D. B30 is another chinese super-speed clone that was kindly passed on to me which is another razor i haven't used much like the Baili BD177 i used in my SOTD yesterday,it has a good weight & balance to it, the moving "TTO parts/doors" are all in smooth working order with no uneven blade alignment or aggression gap difference, another non-aggressive razor that would make a good daily shaver.

A enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your Sunday Ladies & Gentlemen.
