Another great shave today. 3 smooth, close passes.
The Star felt a tiny bit smoother than the Tech the day before. Might be the fact the blade was in it's second use. Definitely felt more natural to use though, I wasn't conscious of having the ride the top cap a bit more like I did with the Tech.
But using this blade and a great, great lather there is very little to choose between the Tech and Star.

Last year I bought a Oumo Flat Top Boar brush and used it a few times then I stopped using it, but decided to give it another go. I went about loading about the same amount of Tabac to my face then started building the lather, and crikey is the brush efficient, I seemed to produce enough lather for 4 passes. The flat shape of the brush makes it a little awkward to splay the brush and requires a little different technique to a bulb knot for face lathering, but I found the shape of the knot makes it a delight to paint lather on for additional passes. One slight against the brush, and the reason why I wasn't too enthusiastic about using it begin with was it smelt really terrible, the pig funk is mild but it had a really strong chemical scent - I'll keep on shampooing it dog shampoo.
A new blade in the shave as well, it seemed excellent. Look forward to getting to know it better with more shaves, but it seems smooth and sharp and it paired delightfully with my FHT for a 2.5 pass shave.

That's interesting, I would've thought a flat top easier to splay.
