After a thorough clean today, my Gillette Old from my newly acquired Canadian Pocket Edition Set was in line for tonight's shave...

Beautiful 2 pass shave leaving me so so close to BBS. This really is a fine shaver. I agree with what people say about their aggression - you can really feel the blade and even the slightest pressure could cause damage, but good technique will yield excellent results in a swift two passes.

It's a winner in my book. Now to get the whole thing replated

I'm still unsure of the manufacture date of these blades which I recently acquired, but if the first shave was anything to go by, then these are going to be very good indeed. Smoother than current US Personna blades, but just as sharp.

Greetings,

A extra day off work today...Yeah!!!

As with the last outing the ER 1924 performed superbly, making the shave a very enjoyable experience, resulting in a flawless 3 pass smooth shave with no errors to report..These vintage razor are truely remarkable..I've said my favourite razor is the muhle R89, well The Ever-Ready SE razors are on equal par with my trusty R89...I've been wondering how these wonderful razors will perform with a modern longer handle, i ordered some 8mm stainless steel cone pointed grub screws from Ebay, to see if it works,..I'll give my verdict, once the grub screws arrive...Hopefully it should be a success.:)

I've mentioned recently that i was considering using a Vintage razor for my monthly head shave, well today after my weekly "No Guard" buzz-cut with my wahl hair clippers, i pushed the boat out and went for it..The verdict?...Unbelievably good, after a few strokes 'wtg' i found my shaving angle, and felt comfortable with no hesitation or fear in my mind that i was going to slice my precious swede to pieces, the audio feedback from the razor guided me through each pass.

Second pass 'xtg',near 'BBS', i then done a final 'wtg'/ pick-up pass in places, the back of my head mainly, due to shaving blind , I've tried using a mirror but it's doesn't work for me, i pay more attention looking at the back of my head, rather than shaving it.I tend to get better comfortable head shaving results "by Feel", if that makes sense.

After finishing the 3rd pass my precious swede was 'Kojak Smooth'..Finishing off with a generous dollop of Boots Freshwood A/S Balm. All in all a very close first SE vintage razor comfortable irritation/nick- free head shave.

The maca root cream was one of the first creams i bought when i started traditional wet shaving, i don't give it much attention to be honest, which is very foolish on my behalf, today with a small amount it created a wonderful lather for both of my shaves,i highly recommend giving this cream a try, if you haven't already, it's fragrance doesn't get top marks, but it's slickness, protection and post shave feeling are fantasically good.

Finishing my 'face shave' off with a generous spray of geoffrey beene edt, to the pulse points.

My face & head are feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.
