In almost 3 years of DE shaving, today was the first time I abandoned a shave mid way due to picking up a cut that just wouldn't stop bleeding. I'd almost got to the end of the first pass, where I lost concentration for a split second and ended up slicing the edge of my lower lip, which despite repeated use of the alum I wasn't able to seal the cut so I had to resort to using a plaster. I think part of the reason why the cut was so bad was that I had reopened an older cut from about a week ago.
Prior to picking up the cut it was my first time using the menthol Palmolive cream, and it seems to be a superb cream which I partly bought down to reading excellent recommendations including from @Sezer1974. I presume it uses the standard Palmolive cream base with added menthol but it seems to perform a lot better, the cream itself seems to be a bit more concentrated than the Belgian made standard cream available for purchased in the UK. A shame I seemed to wash most of the lather down the sink but I guess that's the world of shaving for you!
I should probably now order some styptic matches!
Anyway, have a great Bank Holiday weekend chaps!
