Holiday shave :

Got lazy pre hols and built up 3 days of stubble. Long journey to Tampa, Florida & couldn't wait to shave on first morning here. Strange setup in this first hotel: Sink is in main room, not in bathroom. Nice not to have the usual issue of the mirror steaming up whilst in the shower, but very bizarre to have to DE shave with my wife & 2 kids in the room.

Cream: Truefitt & Hill West Indian Limes

Bowl: used T&H plastic bowl for travel

Brush: MÜHLE 23mm STF

Razor: Razorock Game Changer .84

Blade: Personna Med Prep (Super)

Post: Barts Balm Lime aftershave balm

My last shave before this was using the same gear except with a Gillette Silver Blue blade instead. Despite a decent feeling shave at the time and my face looking ok, face felt sore for a while afterwards. I've generally found GSB to be one of the better blades of those I've tried so I'm not dissing it, but the after my first few shaves with Personna Med Prep, then using up my last GSB, and then returning to the PMP, I found the PMP trumps the GSB in terms of post shave. My face felt great after the PMP, almost like I hadn't shaved as regards lack of irritation, burn, etc. After trying numerous blades in sample packs, I feel I'm onto something here and almost ready to go all-in on the Personnas and get some in bulk. Plus they don't have annoying glue bumps on! Also really liking the T&H Lime, leftover lather placed on my face whilst gear was cleaned up felt amazing. Followed by warm, then cold water rinse, then Barts balm. Felt like an effortless and luxurious shave. Covered blade tabs rule! Big fan also of the mini travel pots, 4 for I think less than £2 in Bodycare. Could just do with some cooling pre/post menthol in this heat!

Greetings,

:Face & Head Shave:

A new shave set up to start the weekend..Maiden shave with the new Gillette Winner Blade, which i've finally got round to trying out. Paired together with the ball end tech was a smooth efficient of which i find very similar with the Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword (Saloon Pack), quite sharp, but very forgiving quite possibly the same blade, using the 'Gillette Winner' name with new packaging for resale purposes...Another great value for money indian made blade, the longevity of them, i'm not sure, but i will take a guess and say around 2-3 'head shaves'3-4 face shaves (max),usage of them will tell, depending on your hair & skin type.

After the superb shave with the recently acquired Vie Long shave stick i've decided to use the wilkinson sword shave stick, another shaving soap i've hardly gave any attention to,i've forgot how quickly this shave stick creates a lather. Some users will find the scent a little artificial , but it's not unpleasant i personally like it, but YMMV as they say...IMHO it excelled itself way above the 'shaving blue soap bowl' as the stick contains lanolin the bowl doesn't, it's equally as good as the palmolive classic stick the only advantage the palmolive stick over it is the price tag.The post shave feel is amazingly good, due to the added lanolin which my skin rhino skin type adores..However,my only personal small gripe with the stick is, it doesn't last very long compared to my other shave sticks.maybe it's the addition of the lanolin, that has made it softer from other shave sticks.

Second 'head shave' with the gillette ball end tech which i find very comfortable for head shaving really good for reaching the "awkward back of my head blindspot areas",as with every razor i use for head shaving 'if it requires it or not' i rub my fingertips with a alum block which gives a good firm grip without the fear of the razor slipping from my hand whilst shaving my head and slicing my precious swede to pieces...After the shave i rinse the handle with cold water to remove any alum residue.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of The Real Shaving Co ~ Post Shave Soothing Balm.

My face & head are feeling super smooth and smelling devine.
;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Enjoy your holiday in Florida Dave !

Sat 24th August.

Vulfix 404 mixed
Vitos Super Red
PAL Injectomatic
Schick S/S Single- Japan [ 5 ]
Tuff Green A/S Lotion

Had a poor Injectomatic Shave yesterday due to a failing blade. To make amends I used another one fitted with a fresher blade, this combo is really smooth and comfortable. The quality of finish is as I have come to expect from this Razor, and makes up for the disappointment of yesterday.
