SOTD : Saturday 24th October to Friday 30th October 2020.

it was bought about 6 months ago
Ah, there are a few members on here that seem to have duff pucks purchased from March/April 2020 onwards, particularly from connaught.

There is a thread here about it. We're trying to work out where the batch started and ended. Also, if you still have the box, there is a batch code on the box opening, maybe the opposite tab to the one you used, that would be handy. It's a shame Mitchells do seem to put out the odd bad puck from time to time. Added to the soap being difficult to lather if you add water to fast.

Muhle Silvertip 21mm
Williams Mug soap
ER 1924
Gem S/S ( 3 )
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

The 1924 is considered quite a harsh Razor, but I have used one for years with a long handle to get very good Shaves.Today was very good, very smooth and by taking care and not having to rush, I got the kind of finish that matches many I get with some AC/ SE.

Prep - Facial wash
razor - Katana
blade - Med Prep (7?)
soap - RR Emperor - tallow
brush - Semogue 2015 HD badger
post - witch hazel
a/s - RR Emperor
balm - none
scent - none.

All good - seriously impressed with the Med Prep blade - still working a treat - and should it fail - which it will - at some point - I have the other half of the snapped blade in the wings. Insert the name of your chosen deity - bless the Katana. Hadn't used this soap for a while - my favourite Creed Aventus clone - I have owned the original parfum - a gorgeous scent - and this takes it off well - it is all about the pineapple opening - if that isn't a euphemism - I don't know what is. The matching RR splash is equally good - scent longevity beyond a normal aftershave. There are plenty of soaps around that try to copy Aventus - I notice - that PAA - joined in with the Doppelganger black - the CK-6 base - but I'm not in the market to spend £25 on a tub of soap at the moment to see what it is like. So - the label art on the soap tub - is taken from a series of paintings - 1801 - 1805 - by Jacques Louis David - he did five of them - all much the same thing - 'Napoleon Crossing the Alps' - to my eye - this is the Belvedere version. That's probably more information than you needed - for a sotd post - it was a great shave - enjoy yours - one and all - cheers - I.

Edit - I was wrong about PAA Doppelganger black being Aventus -

Black Label - Sauvage by Christian Dior
Oxblood Label - Sartorial by Penhaligan's
Orange Label - Chaps by Ralph Lauren
Grey Label - Creed Aventus
Apologies - I.

Greetings,

Last use of the bolzano s.i. blade which has performed superbly with each outing. These blades are smooth sharp & very forgiving. Every razor i've paired them up with has been a excellent match...The longevity of them is astoundingly good i know i could quite easily get another two shaves from this blade but i will retire it due to me having a boat load of other blades to contend with.

I have carried on with the hefty Parker 89r to finish my shaving week off, another razor i haven't added to my razor rotation for a while. throughout the week my humble parker have provided me with socially acceptable error free shaves.
Today was no exception.

This morning myself and other family members are going to pay our respects to my aunt Joan (86 years of age) who finally past away last week, i say 'finally' because she lived in a care home in a state of extreme dementia for four years which was horrible for her even though she wasn't aware of it, 'a blessing in disguise for her i suppose' and equal for her children family, friends and dedicated supportive care home staff.

Alzheimer's disease/Dementia is the most undignified disease for anybody..'I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy'...Anyway at last she is at rest, away from this crazy covid pandemic madness world we are living in at the moment.

Another pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of L'OREAL~ Soothing Birch Sap Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Day ladies & gentlemen.

Take care everyone. Yours. B
