Shave Of The Day. 28th June

Prep ~ Valobra Glicerlanolina soap
Razor ~ Rex - Ambassador set to 2.5
Blade ~ Wizamet Polsilver Stainless
Soap ~ Oatcake - Almond Cream ( new Brazil nut formula base )
Brush ~ Semogue Badger & Boar
Post ~ ABC - Apricot hull aftershave lotion
Scent ~ Boellis - Panama 1924 EdT

Only my second shave with the Rex but it has shown its self to be the razor I had hoped it would be, again I had a comfortable close shave with no mishaps.

The new Oatcake soap is fabulous, thick creamy lather with plenty of slip n slide and a wonderful scent to boot!
This is the new brizil nut base formula that is a step up from the already very good soaps that Edward was producing. For more info contact him through his Etsy shop Oatcakesoap.

Have a great day folks........P.

Arko
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm synth
Face lather
PAL Injectomatic
Schick Proline B
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
4711 EdC

A great shave this morning. I really love Injectomatic type razors. Although my ultimate favourite SEs tend towards 1912s and Gems; the Injectors are just about on par with them. Certainly, used with confidence (and common sense applied) a close, smooth shave is almost guaranteed.

The neroli notes in the Arko are picked up nicely by the 4711 and each layers well with the other.

Soap - Palmolive Cream
Brush - Zenith B07
Razor - Wilkinsons Classic
Blade - Treet 7 Days (7)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling Kick
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum with Pimento

Superb lather today with the Zenith B07. It's taken a fair old while to understand how best to use the brush, it's not a brush that works with hard soaps but creams and just the tips of the brush whilst building the lather. I'm very impressed with the lasting qualities of the T7D, seemingly not showing any signs of losing much if not any sharpness but it's not a very smooth blade, I can feel a little irritation from the lather for the second & third passes which I don't seem to do with any other blade.

Pre shave Prep: Pears Transparent Original
Brush: Yaqi Moka Express
Soap: GFCC Peppermint
Razor: Parker SRX SS Heavy Duty Professional
Blade: Perma sharp half blade (1)
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Lime Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: OSP Menthol and Eucalayptus

SRX GFCC Moka.JPG

After a beautiful, close shave yesterday with the Mongoose SS-B3 I decided to give the Parker SRX a run out, using the recently acquired Perma Sharp half blades instead of snapping a DE. I basically bought this as a technique improver for my DX & the blades to try in the Rocnel.
A great Face lather from the GFCC with my chin suitably covered i started the shave as i would the Feather AC DX, this is a smaller razor and much easier to handle, i was pretty confident with it, i completed a mixed pass WTG/XTG & ATG without any issues. after the rinse i had a pretty good finish. i decided not to push my luck and completed a search and destroy buffing pass with the Occams V1 on #1 plate, the blade was about done any way.
If you are thinking of moving to a shavette i can recommend the SRX, A Stainless Steel shavette, pretty good quality for under £20. @CjH & @jaro1069
Nothing from the block and a nice pre shave routine, the OSP giving a nice cooling face feel.
A very nice shave and a nice surprise. DFS, soft and supple face and smelling pretty good for a Friday PM
Have a great night All.

Yesterday's rasp:

3one6, Lab Blue
Simpsons Berkeley Best
Vitos Red
Heno de Pravia
Astral

Pretty good but I'm finding I have to be much more careful with the 3one6 as far as regular shaving duties are concerned. It may be that for me, it's best suited to mowing down several days of built up growth as opposed to my usual routine of every second day shaving. Perhaps my 34c is going to stay 'King of the Castle' (or garden) after all. I enjoyed the RR Mamba but didn't get on with its more aggressive upgrade the Mamba 70 but I like the 3one6 better than both with the notable excpetion of RazoRock's Radio Knob handle which, to me, is a thing of beauty and the best razor handle I've ever used.

Wonderful wee brush this Berkelely with softer best badger hair than my Commodore X3.

Ahhhh so let's get back to the familiar shall we...today's choice, the Gillette New SC with the long, thin handle. This razor is beautiful and balances very nicely. In this configuration it is slightly head heavy and just glides down the face. Lots for it to do beard-wise but with a nice Wilkinson Sword loaded it had no issues.

Soap of the day was Stirling Tuscany and it is a very nice soap just something so right about the scent. Lots of summer flowers in this one but a great scent. Chubby 2 whipped a great lather and proceeded to get through a slow and methodical three pass BBS shave. Beautiful. Last step a lovely shot of Gucci Pour Homme.

The long weekend is upon us with Canada Day arriving on Monday! Followed shortly by July 4th for our American friends. Take a few minutes when you can during the holidays to tell the folks you hold near and dear how much they mean to you. Keep them close and hug them lots.

Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all.

Fri 8th June

The Grosvenor [ 404 ]- mixed
Vitos Super Red
ER "Streamline "
Gem S/S [ 1 ]
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

After 9 consecutive days of Shaves with the skeletal Occams SE, the Streamline seemed rather hefty. However the weight was not a problem and the Shave was smooth and comfortable with a typical Streamline close finish. I did notice that Shavetime today seemed quick compared with the Occams, I think it is one of those Razors that encourages you to go for the ultimate close Shave every time. The downside to this is that after a few Shaves the skin feels a bit discomforted, so todays Shave was very enjoyable.
