SOTD: Saturday 22th -Friday 28st June 2019.

Arrived back home after flying overnight.

Happy to be home , but testament to how much I love the Paradigm , after shaving exclusively with it for 10 days, it still took pole position even with the whole of my collection to choose from :)

Soap: Wickham 1912 ~ Ninfeo di Ergeria
Razor: Paradigm Ti2
Blade: Personna Lab Blue - Really loving these blades in the Paradigm

That was a nice shave
Today I received some free pots from GFCC and I changed my SOTD set up to accommodate.
A nice shower, then, using the Yaqi synth I cleaned the lid of the cream and then the smallest of dips into the cream. The brush and soap mixed up a delightful lather although i did push it a bit and maybe could have done with 4 less water droplets, saying that when i went to paint the face after the pre shave soaping, it really bloomed again, the smell initially in the bowl was quite good as i like these fragrances musky and citrus, it did mellow to a very nice Citrus, woody aroma, i like it.

B&N GFCC.JPG
a small amount of air bubbles in the Lather, my fault as i pushed it a bit too far, it came back though.

Now then, this Mongoose razor is a beast, the weight and size of it suits me down to the ground, the head with its large angled face makes it virtually impossible to get the angle wrong, armed with the Kai Captain it ploughs through the stubble, the weight giving you confidence not to apply any pressure at all, the combination is so smooth for me. A fantastic first pass, after the rinse the results felt very good.
I work the lather in the bowl again just to reduce the small amount of bubbles i had and went again, XTG, after that i only needed buffing really, however, i was enjoying the shave and had plenty of the soap left so went for a partial ATG pass.
Just Beautiful.
Nothing from the block, a nice cold water splash and a touch of witch hazel.
The Barts Balm carrying on the Fragrance and is a good match up. i was going to just have a splash of Old Spice original when i remembered my CC sample pack, i reached for the " Just Neroli" and - Boom! Shave complete, rounded, circle closed, i will be using this exact recipe again and again (i need a full bottle of this Copycat and just missed the 30% off, there's always next time).
BBS, Comfortable, Supple and Smelling absolutely Divine, the Darling also likes it, as i walk past her she keeps sniffing, "you'll have to get that one" best endorsement ever.
Have a great night All

Reading all the menthol themes today I decided to follow suit and give my Proraso products a run out this evening.

These along with the R41 and Shark blade gave me a great 3 pass shave. Smoother than smooth.

The R41 was a razor who's reputation is quite intimidating. In the flesh it gives some of the best results I have ever managed.

It definitely not for someone starting out as the blade feel and assertiveness is way over the likes of the SE Claymore - a razor itself which has a reputation for being aggressive. A gentle touch and full concentration is what this razor needs at all times.

The Shark blade performed well on its 3rd outing. It reminds me slightly of a Feather but the latter would have been binned after 2 shaves. I have a relatively thick stubble around my goatee area, but the Sharks don't complain. The audio just increased for a few strokes and then disappears.

A 9/10 shave this evening!

Have a great night folks! [emoji1303]

Razor: Oneblade Core
Blade: FHS-10 (3)
Brush: Yaqi Monster 30mm
Soap: BS Macca Root & Aloe
Pre: Pears & Floïd Oil
ASL: Floïd Suave
ASB: Floïd

My third consecutive day of shaving. I'm normally an 'every other day' shaver. Some of today's SOTDs have inspired me to use the BS Macca cream.

3 passes and some buffing in the trouble spots. I didn't chase a close finish today inorder to see if one would come naturally through my technique (or lack thereof). The finish is visually acceptable but far from smooth if felt by hand. My skin doesn't feel fatigued though so this razor appears to be easier on my skin. If after 10 shaves with the Oneblade I can get this level of finish (or better) from it in a quicker time, it's fit to do the job I need. It's too soon to make any judgement on the razor now given how new it is to me.

I'm also interested to see how long an FHS-10 blade will last.

And for this day and for one time only, the theme for my SOTD was 'Electricity'

Single ended triode - SS Colonial General
Potential difference - Kai Captain
Brushless motor - Razorock 400 the not so brushless brush
Electrical interface - Alvarez Gomez Barberia
Dielectric cooling liquid - Nivea for men moisturiser

In 1753 electricity was invented by the irresistible Georg Ohm one year after Benjamin Franklin famously came close while hanging keys from a kite during an electrical storm. It is presumed it was a strange method of safeguarding the keys to his front door while he nipped down the corner shop for a couple of AA batteries. By the time he returned the elctrical storm had passed and likewise a golden opportunity. Franklin then went on to invent the Franklin stove, the Philadelphia Fire department (after numerous fires caused by his stoves) and his most famous of inventions, the United States of America.

Allessandro Volta would have to wait until 1799 to invent electricity for a second time due to reccouring problems with his piles, his potentially indifferent issues and terminal negativity.

It wasn't until the 20th century that static electricity was discovered when the American physicist Robert Van De Graaf invented a generator for generating electricity which didn't move. Other than sticking balloons to ceilings and annoying cats, Robert found very little use for static electricity and turned his attention to inventing Prog Rock with his band unimaginatvely named after his scientific invention. Nikola Tesla in the meantime became equally as bored and decided building cars and launching them in to space was far more entertaining.

This afternoon at work has been incredibly mind numbing and the devil will find work for idle hands etc. Or in my case the devil will write a load of twaddle and piffle.

My SOTD

Back to that trusty old work horse the wonderful Colonial General. My choice of DE's may have that aggressive edge but in all honesty this big boy does very much the same but in an incredibly smooth and comfortable manner. I love this razor for everything it achieves. A very controllable bristle bully.

Alavrez Gomez and the 400 brush? Because other than it is all I have at the moment they are both class performers and quality shaving items.

The Nivea just being the final icing on today's shaving cake.

One great and comfortable shave which left me smoother than a polystyrene covered cat and tingling like licking the terminals of a 9v battery.

Have a lovely weekend ahead shaving people and enjoy what the weatherman says. Apparently some folk couldn't care less about him.

Thanks for the insightful read on the use of electricity,Chris. This guy also dabbled with electricity and did indeed accomplish something seemingly improbable.
