SOTD: Saturday 22th -Friday 28st June 2019.

I usually tend to be behind here on my SOTD's so for a change I thought I would be a little more prompt and start off this weeks shaving activities thread.

I do have a little giggle when I see 'SOTD Saturday 22rd to Friday 28nd' so I did try my hardest to get my ordinal numbers correct. Pity the remainder of my English is shite, but that is another thing.

Anyway a nice quiet morning at anchor and a shave seemed a good way to start the day. And for these early hours my theme was to be 'Safety'

44998

A safety razor  - Ikon SB in matt SS
A safety razor blade :ROFLMAO: - Polsilver Lodz
A very safe brush  - Razorock 400
A safe to use cream  - OSP Chypre

I am quite convinced if a full risk assessment was made of having a shave using the above I would be sporting a beard. The probability of choking on the brush or ingestion of the OSP would be far too high to negate. And dare I mention the possibility of mistakingly eating the blade? Plus by the time a tool box talk has taken place and the necessary permit to shave completed I'd be several more days of growth down the line.

A safety razor? :censored:

Without going on too much more, this mornings' dangerous activity was a second outing for that lethal facial weapon, the Ikon matt SB. And what a lovely outing. A very effective razor which gave a great result in three full passes of comfort. No nicks, no weepers and just one damn fine and dandy shave. As smooth as one of those very smooth things. You know.

So a great start to the day and not once did I get close to choking on the brush or get to know what Chypre tastes like never mind what scent it is.

Now. About eating this blade?

And I really thought I was the initiator this week. One copy and paste later

Shaving recipe for today.

Pre:

Cold wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Lemon Flower Extract Transparent Soap.

Brush: Semogue 1305.

Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.

Bowl Lather.

Soap : Bathhouse ~ Spanish Fig & Nutmeg.

Blade: Trig ~ Silver Edge. (1) (Blue cover)

Razor: Wilkinson Sword Premium TTO.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade menthol crystals +Eucalyptus peppermint,+ Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Boots ~Freshwood ASL + Balm.

Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Second outing of the bathhouse soap, which after a 5 minute bloom in warm tap water then loaded up with my damp "not wet" semogue 1305 providing a wonderful slick protective lather for my shave, adding a small amount of water to the tips of the brush in-between each pass...A wonderful addition to my humble shaving soap collection which has become another instant favourite.

Recently i've been having some fantastic shaves with stuff i've had in my shaving den that i've hardly gave any attention to..The trig stainless blade which is made by the Treet co in pakistan i've used these blades a few times in the past and have always had good shaving results with them, today was no exception they come in two different covers blue & green Both of the trig blades have impressed me ,with their sharp longevity and smoothness. As to say which is the better blade between them, they are the same blade, just in different packaging for selling purposes.

What i like about the Trig blades is that both have been consistantly smooth & predictable each time that i've shaved with them, that IMHO is a good blade. I've mentioned before in my previous postings this is just my experience, every person's skin type, review/experience on a blade,(soap, brushes, razors etc) will vary from mine ,and it's wrong for me to label some experiences/reviews as 'right & others wrong, 'they are all right, because each person knows his or her experiences/opinions are right, but that doesn't make the experiences/opinions of others wrong either...However, we all learn from watching, reading trying & listening, to other peoples experiences/Reviews, but we all go by our own judgement first, before following others.Enough said, i'm starting to babble.o_O

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood aftershave balm.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling old school devine.;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Jayaruh Syn. No67
MWF
Occams SE -V2/Plate No2
Feather Pro [ 4 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

With all new to me Razors I tend to use tried and tested ingredients , the MWF providing a great lather which helps the
Occams deliver another trouble free Top Quality Shave. Where it wins out over other Razors is that I am able to use it ATG in all all areas where other Razors do not work.
So far I am very pleased with this off the wall purchase, as it is providing me with some of my best ever Shaves. As another member has said despite its looks, it does what a Razor should do - it Shaves very well.

A mediocre two pass shave this morning, but... no cuts, no blood. I finished the shave without blunders. Admittedly, not the closest of shaves, I have done better with a DE, occasionally, but good enough. This was a landmark shave with the Feather.

Saturday SOTD

Zenith Synthetic
WSP Spring Rain
Game Changer .84
RapIra (1)
Dunhill Fresh ASL
Dunhill Fresh EdT

The fresh RapIra in the Game Changer was world's apart from a Voskhod - very sharp and a bit too keen for my preference. I picked up a small nick on my chin on the second pass which took a while to stop bleeding.
This was only my second shave with a Game Changer, early impressions are that it gets the job done, but not quite as well as my 6C on plate 4 (could be a case of tweaking my technique with the razor though.)
I've primed it ready for my next shave with a Silver Blue to see if it's more comfortable.
Finished with Dunhill Fresh Aftershave ( I highly recommend this if it's still available to buy) and the matching EdT.

Today's shave was accompanied by Peter Frampton . . .
