Pre: Pears Transparent Original
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
Soap: MWF
Razor: Blackland Sabre
Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (1)
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Witch Hazel
Balm: Bart's Amber and Moroccan Jasmine Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Hugo Boss Bottled Night

Sab,MWF,SC2 (2).JPG

A very nice shave today, a new blade fitted to the Sabre for today's shave.
The bowl lather with the Synth and the MWF giving plenty of lovely slick lather.
2 passes WTG & ATG with some buffing leaving me comfortable and BBS.
I can recommend these Blackland razors, they work very well for me.
YMMV.
If the New General shaves any where as good when it arrives i will be one happy shaver and the collection will be drastically thinned out.
From that last comment you probably realise i lost the mind battle of RAD and pulled the trigger - he is on-route.
A nice post shave routine finishing with the Hugo Boss bottled night.
The Barts Balm is my "go to" post shave treatment, although i will use up the other balms etc when i can, especially when they match the soap or aftershave etc.
So BBS, soft and comfortable and smelling very nice
have a great day All

Though the blade was on its 8th outing, the Shave was smooth and comfortable and i had no problems getting a nice close all round finish. I think that I am lucky as I seem to get top class Shaves from my AC/SE Razors , whereas I find DE though delivering good Shaves , are likely to cause me minor nicks/cuts when my concentration waivers.

I wasn't sure how today would work out after stopping after only 2 passes last night. I need not worry as this shave was really enjoyable.

After a toasty shower I actually forgot to use any pre-shave....the lather was already getting painted onto my face when I realised ‍♂️

Pressing on regardless, 3 smooth passes flew by, although the Feather blade was on its last legs towards the end. It's now been safely binned.

The post shave was what transformed a good shave to an excellent shave! Thayers followed by the Floid was that usual fresh as a daisy feeling. Then another hiccup when I put Bart's Balm into my palm (that sounds wrong!!!). I though it was the balm however quickly realised it was the aftershave lotion. Now, I have tins of both and usually lean towards the balm as the lotion is quite oily and leaves my skin a bit too greasy for my liking. However, having it in my hand and not wanting to waste it, I went ahead and threw it on. I had the same opinion with my skin feeling greasier than a frying pan.......HOWEVER......I usually use a towel to take off ehat I thought was the excess (even though I only use a dot), but today I left it to absorb into my skin. 10 minutes later and my skin was no longer greasy, but as smooth and soft as it has ever felt!

This has been mind blowing for me and will now mean a significant change in what I thought was a pretty good post-shave routine!

If you haven't tried @BartsBalm aftershave lotions, seriously, give them a try (and leave it to dry - don't wipe off the oil!).

I got the 2 sample tins (one balm, the other lotion) for Christmas last year and they're still going strong, so they're well worth the money!

Have a great night folks!

Glad that the lotions are working for you Gordy.

I know a lot of people feel that the Lotions are slightly too oily and it is very easy to apply too much.

To achieve the best results, from the lotions, I always recommend 1-2 pumps, warmed in your hands and then applied to the face.
