An exceptional two pass shave this morning. The ATT Calypso SE1, despite an apparently small blade gap, feels, and gives a finish, more like a Feather AC SS. An astonishingly close shave.

First Off a massive thank you to Brian at Signature soaps for the extremely generously sized samples.
I attempted a repair on my Giles bowl and managed to use it, it needs a resin repair though, i have a copper bowl on route.
So, using a large pea size ball of the Leodis soap i pressed it into the bottom of the bowl and then added a few drops of water to bloom it while i showered,
I like a thick lather when using the Sabre and i have to say i am pretty impressed with this soap, it is quite well scented and to my nose very nice, Fresh and clean, you can pick out each scent as you mix it, all together they are something i can easily get on with. In no time at all i had a massive amount of slick lather without effort, i am glad i tried the bowl out as it was a struggle keeping all the lather in there.
The lather painted on the face giving a full thick covering, the scent still very much there but not overpowering (for me anyway).
The 1st pass WTG was easy, clearing away most of what was there, i was surprised at the glide the soap gave, the razor just flew around my chops, I loaded the face again and completed an ATG pass, the same glide and the lather holding well, no dissipation at all.
There was easily enough for another pass and buffing if i needed it, however, 2 passes and BBS, no Issues from the block and a very slick, soft face feel.
Obviously YMMV but for me it as good as any of the soaps i have and i would buy it, i just need to reduce my soap collection.
I had a very nice post shave, matching the Barts Balm Grapefruit and Pink Pepper Lotion and Balm to the soap, which, by the way i can still smell, i wanted to use a copycat and the closest was the CC Bleu.
All very nice
So Another thank you to Brian, the soap, the Sabre, Barts Balm and copycat for a very nice Mid morning shave.

Have a great day All

Glad you liked it. What doesYMMV and BBS mean?

Loving the Rocca

Gotta say the new Rocca head they sent me has transformed it, the old head was a bit rough, but this one is very smooth.

Friday 27th September

Pears Glycerine Soap
Erasmic Shaving Soap Bowl
HJM Black Fibre Brush
Wilkinson Sword TTO with a Gillette/Wiilkinson Blade
Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Gold AS
Macadamia Oil

3 passes for a lovely smooth finish. I have been really appreciating the results I have been getting from non artisan readily available shaving gear

My first leave day for a very long time and I managed to clear most of the backlog of chores around the house. Chilling out tonight with a few beers and an early start for the Rugby am.

What doesYMMV and BBS mean?
This may help.

This may help.
That's very useful

Merkur 34c, Gillette Platinum
Simpsons Berkeley 46 Best
Palmolive SC
Benjamin's Bay Rum
Astral
James Bronnley Original EdT

Just love this wee brush - holds a lot of lather and is really nimble round the old physog. Older, 'Made in England' badged, Simpsons Best feels softer than my 3 year old Commodore X3. The Palmolive is becoming quite the regular.
