SOTD : Saturday 20th October - Friday 26th October 2018.

Last night's SOTD was a test between a Derby Premium and a Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade in the Rocnel Elite.

The Rapira provided a noticeably smoother shave and I'm stoked that this razor will accept blades from the Rapira and Voskhod line as well as Feathers.

So far, I've found that this razor will accept Feathers, Voskhod, Rapira, Derby, Shark and Asco Blades.

It won't accept a host of other blades (including all Gillette P&G blades, Lord, Big Ben, Personna, Supermax, Trig etc) won't fit due to the tolerances used on the centre post.

It was designed around a Feather and it shows that even from the same manufacturer (such as Lord for example, not all blade tolerances are equal).

It's certainly helped clear up the question as to whether Lord Classic, Sharks, Asco's and Big Ben's are identical blades. They're clearly not otherwise they would all fit.

The same can be said about Shark and Lord Chrome blades (as the Shark's fit whilst the Lord's don't). [emoji846]

Another shave with my new Rockwell 6c razor this afternoon. Tried plate R3 this time and it gave another outstanding performance.

A smooth and efficient shave which was a joy.

3 passes with a few touch ups around the neck. BBS.

Have a great weekend folks! [emoji106][emoji2532]

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain
Razor:Pils 101NE
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 Tungsten Steel (5)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Penhaligon's Sartorial (decant)

One of my favourite soaps - I couldn't wish for a fresher outdoors scent. Also, like all Stirling soaps, it is a great performer.
The Rooney brush is intriguing - it is so soft and splays so easily that I found myself wondering if I had loaded enough soap prior to lathering. For a second time it made a fool of me, producing seemingly endless amounts of quality lather.
Three passes for a very comfortable DFS with a lovely post shave feel.

Sat 20th October

RazoRock Plissoft 22mm
Williams Mug Soap
Alu. General + Claymore Handle
Schick Proline [ 1 ]
Lea A/S Balsam

Holidays are nice, but it is always good to be back home and to familiar surroundings. Cannot beat your own Bathroom for having a nice relaxed Shave. Actually used the General which I had originally intended to use whilst away, but the Schick I1 took the role of Holiday Razor to great effect. A nice Shave today with a nice all round finish.
