Vitos Super Red
Occams V2 / No2 plate
Schick Proline [ 6 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

Having sustained long scratches on my Cheek, by trying to Shave with an incorrectly loaded blade I was unsure if a Shave today would work.
However, I took a chance using the Occams V2 which I know is forgiving. Very carefully I shaved the damaged cheek to a good standard without opening up the scratches.Completion of the shave was very easy, and I am rather pleased at the overall quality of finish, as I do not like missing my Daily Shave.

This Shave has convinced of the merits of the Occams V2, which despite its looks is proving to be a Razor that delivers great quality shaves without any hassle. A really superb lightweight AC/ SE which IMHO is superior to both the Alu General/Hawk regards ease of Shave and Finish.

Super two pass, cold water shave and post shave freeze this morning. Smooth shave from the Fatip Piccolo with a Feather blade. Good way to start the day.

Soap - Proraso Green
Brush - Yaqi Rainbow
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - New Astra SP (3)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Benjamins Bay Rum Mentholated

Exactly the same shave as yesterday but with a newer etched Astra SP. No doubt about it, the newer one is a superior blade, smoother and a touch sharper. The newer ASP in the shave had less resistance, very noticable all through the shave but in particular for the 3rd pass and clean ups, around the jaw. Aside from the newer ASP being smoother, I seemed to obtain a closer shave. I'd say the older ASP was a very good blade, but I'd put the newer one as being exceptional.

Time to take the birthday gifts for a spin. I know it's not wise to mix too many new variables in a shave but I can't help myself.

Two fatal errors in today's shave. 1) The Duke was far too large to load soap from the pot of VdH. It just wasn't working. I think the 404 mixed would be better suited to this soap. 2) The CP oil is actually a poor product (IMO) despite the great smell. It dissipates lather and a quick read through some of my previous SOTDs has show this to be the common denominator when I've had post shave irritation.

I turned the Duke to a pot of Figaro Monsieur Gold. The smell is underwhelming but the lather is easy, plentiful and slick. Unfortunately the oil broke the lather up below the surface.

The Marvel performed well following the initial faff. No need for any touch ups after the three passes. I'm treating some razor burn but I intend to replicate this shave minus the oil to give it a true test on Sunday.

Mmm!
Don't believe your spreadsheets!
A successful shave tonight with the 510. A fantastic Lather with the 1912, I like them and they are at the top of my list, I like the Citrus Musk best of the 4 I have.
With the Progress set on #3 I began the shave, WTG was fine, I went ATG next but the blade did not feel that sharp, my sheet said 2 shaves so I should easily have got the 3rd, A buffing XTG pass was better, I think the blade was on #4 shaves, still got there though.
Not a lot from the block and a nice post shave ending with the 1912 Citrus Musk splash. overall very nice.
BBS, Comfortable and smelling Top Drawer.
Have a great weekend All
