Another nice shave with the Schick today.
A great lather with the Simpson and Proraso Green, more than enough lather mixed in the Giles bowl from about 25 seconds loading up.
There something about this Schick that reminds me of shaving with a cart, I have to keep reminding myself to "only remove the lather" and take my time and I am rewarded with a fantastic finish, 2 passes was DFS+ and because I had the Lather instead of just buffing I actually did a very gentle full ATG pass - BBS and still comfy, the blade feeling smoother than yesterdays shave.
I did get a little indication from the block but nothing really.
Bring on the cooling post shave starting with a cold water splash then followed up with the Proraso Post shave balm and splash, the splash just patted on and not rubbed in - Cooool!
Have a great evening all, 1 more day closer to a little trip away.

Sotd - Thursday the 25th of July

Razor - Merkur 37c
blade - Gillette 'Aussie Spoiler' (5)
brush - Simpsons Chubby 1 best
soap - Razorock 'Nomad' - vegetarian
post - witch hazel
a/s - Razorock 'Nomad'
balm - none needed.

Result - I'm melting.

I have come to the conclusion that Glasgow in the sun is worse than in the rain. A city whose inhabitants are best seen swaddled in layers of fleece, down and Goretex - it is not pretty in my barrio tonight. I've got this overwhelming desire for a gin and tonic - specifically Bombay Sapphire with Fever Tree tonic and fresh lime. Lets make it so. Enjoy your night and the rest of the week - yours - I.

The Starling- Gem SE
Gem S/S [ 1 ]

I was rather looking forward to another Shave with the Starling, and with a great lather all looked good. However, the fist Strokes were very harsh, and blood came through the Lather. Somehow, when inserting a new blade I did not get the blade secured properly with the locking pins. I cleaned up and now have 3/4 scratches on the cheek, rather like duelling Scars. No Shave today and may miss tomorrow , quite frustrating as I need to Shave daily

Tip On "The Starling "- be extra careful loading and locking the blade. Quite fiddly compared with blade loading of Vintage SES. This is the Culprit.

Phew, it's too damn HOT! Was looking forward to the MWF today but meh. Not as good as Vitos Red and it's hardly my first rodeo with the fat so a tad disappointed with performance and skin feel. Plenty of rich lather so no issues there but I'll keep going regardless as one swallow doth not a summer make.
