The theme for this fine evening's shave was 'We have resumed control'

Court jester and daft as a brush Razorock 24mm Plissoft
The extreme gentleman Paul Smith
Lady Nivea

This evening I find myself at my father's house and the beautiful shaving water of the Yorkshire Wolds. I have written this before but the water out of the tap here has resulted in some of the best shaves in memory. This evening was no exception.

Tonight was all about the Colonial throwing its weight around to prove it still has shaving power. I must say compared to both the Ikon and the Oneblade the Colonial certainly has that additional mass to stamp its authority with. This is one beautiful razor to use and in reflection much like the One you would be hard pushed to produce nicks and weepers. All within reason though. More importantly it gives one very fine and very close shave and it does it with a great sense of expediency. It certainly ain't no slouch. Then again with blades as wide as your face it would be very much an expectation.

As for blade choice I tend to sway away from overly sharp and find the milder Kai Captain a perfect partner. It tends to keep the razor in check and doesn't try to make an attempt at the world's sharpest razor and lose their honesty and integrity as a result. Together they make for a very capable and very confident pairing.

The soap is a new one for me and was kindly sent as a freebie with the Oneblade I recently bought. And what a nice give-a-away it has turned out to be. For me and my small knowledge on using soaps this one is perfect for those of us who don't understand the finer points of using a shaving soap. Stick in a damp brush, swirl around, stick in a bowl, swirl and stick on face. The end result? A fantastic shaving medium. Great to use, great to shave with and with a gentle old school scent. The more I get in to soaps the more I am moving away from creams.

The swirling brush act brought to you by the Razorock 24mm Plissoft. Exactly the same as my silver aluminium version except a dark shade of black. Best damn brush I have used to date. And the blackest.

Without any bloodshed the General has perpetrated a silent Coup D'etat here and made a statement of its qualities and performance.

A wonderful shave as slick as oil and as smooth as my wife's ass smothered in baby lotion. Can't you just tell I am away back at work and wasting my time planning my next time home.

Now the Easter break is over enjoy the rest of the shortened week you shaving people

And to give it all an ending Paul Smith declared, 'We have resumed control'

Face Lather.

Soap : Phoenix & Beau ~ Star Noir.

Blade: Personna ~ Gem PTFE coated.(3)

Razor: Ever Ready ~ 1912. (UK)

Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

Greetings,

Up with the larks this morning..

I haven't used my semogue 1305 brush for a while, and forgot how good this brush performs, after a 5 minute soak in cold water,a few shakes to remove the excess water it then loaded up a adequate amount of soap from the tub in no time. I was rewarded with a excellent, slick protective lather, adding water to the tips of the brush inbetween each pass, without going back to the tub to load again. Superb soap.

After my introduction of the ever-ready 1912(USA) i was intrigued to see how the (UK) version performed.

Out of the blue a mate of mine was at a car boot sale one weekend last year & came across a 1912 (UK) in it's case & a 1924 (Shovel head), both of these vintage ladies were in pretty reasonable condition and on offer for the grand total of £.8.00 he haggled with the seller and got it down to £6.50pence because the 1924 didn't have a case...'If you don't ask, you don't get'..'A absolute bargain',two vintage SE razors for £3.25p each!

After a good sprucing up with a tooth brush & anti bacterial soap, rinsed & a good gentle polish these ladies where ready for service again.

The 1912(UK) version, like it's US cousin is a joy to shave with, the only difference, was i found the UK version slightly more assertive, but equally smooth and comfortable to shave with.

Another wonderfully smooth 3 pass + pick ups BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine.

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Bulldog Original Face Wash, Bulldog Original Face Scrub

Cold water from tap
Proraso White Preshave cream
Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood Shaving Soap

Good shave but lost concentration and the Razorine bit me! Lesson learned.

Soap - Cella
Brush - Yaqi Plissoft Barbershop
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Gillette 7OC Permasharp (3)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Replenishing
AS - Eyup Sabri Lemon

The Indian 7OC Permasharp seems to go under the radar, but it seems to be a very good blade. One I think seems to take a few shaves to settle down, a bit like the other Permasharp - one of my favourite blades. The 3rd shave with the blade in a Fat Handle Tech was the smoothest so far, a very comfortable shave during and after.
