SOTD: Saturday 20th April - Friday 26 th

So I let the beard grow out a bit just to relax the face and as I didn't have anything pressing work wise I let it slide. Today I needed an OC and reached for the New LC and a Gillette Platinum to get the shave on. The razor is beautiful to say the least but truly shaves so incredibly well that you can do it on auto pilot just enjoying the soap, scents and sounds.

The soap of the day was Stirling Weekend in Malibu and what a wonderful scent especially since it's been raining here for days! Just reminds me of summer and fruity drinks!

Lathered up with the wall of badger that is the Chubby 2 and off we went. A wonderful, slow and quite enjoyable three pass shave on the way to BBS. Topped off with the matching AS and some English Laundry Windsor in the form of the EDT and matching deodorant stick. Excellent match by the way for the WIM on the dry down.

Lovely long weekend so far, and hopefully everyone is enjoying their time with friends and family. Hug them lots and keep them close. Happy shaves all.

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Edwin Jagger Synth. v2.0 Silvertip Fibre Faux Horn 25/58mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Wholly Kaw ~ King of Bourbon
Razor/Blade:- Karve CB 'C' / Vintage NOS Gillette Stainless #6
Post-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20), Tea Tree Antiseptic (10), Lavender (15) & Peppermint (10 drops)
Fragrance:- Hugo Boss (Original)

It's time to put all my badger and boar brushes away, because, it's nearly mid-Autumn now while we're heading toward Winter, because, they do take a lot longer to dry out properly in colder weather. I've soaked all my badger and boar into 50% vinegar mixed with 50% water to clean out all the soap scrub deep into the knot for about 20 or 30mins, then I'm going to give them a complete shampoo to bring back the natural hair while they're drying out before I put them away ready again for Spring and Summer. I'll be using three different synthetic brushes in my rotation until the end of Winter seasons, which makes a lot easier and they do dry out pretty quick.

(Face & Head Shave.)

A excellent Williams Superlather easter sunday face & head shave...One of the best superlather mixes i've created so far,the tea tree oil gave the lather a wonderful soothing vibrant kick..leaving a wonderful post shave feel to my face & precious swede.

The Ever Ready 1912 (USA) was my first introduction to the wonderful world of Ever Ready SE vintage razors of which i would never have tried if it wasn't for @patw who kindly gifted it to me last year, of which i'm eternally grateful.

From my first trepidation maiden shave, i was instantly swooned by these vintage ladies, not just the looks, no the smooth efficiency of these razors is remarkably good,as is the audio feedback i've mentioned before i could happily shave with these razors for ever, but like everyone else i like variety.

I never thought in a million years that i would ever do a head shave with a vintage SE razor,or with a DE razor as a matter of fact!, but i now look forward with sheer pleasure to do so with either.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Bulldog ~ Original Moisturiser.

My face & head are feeling smooth & smelling devine old school devine.
;)
;)

Enjoy your easter sunday, ladies & gentlemen.

Tabac soap
Schick " O " Clone
Schick Twin - Japan [ 1 ]
Tabac A/S Lotion

Wanting a nice relaxed Sunday Shave, I chose the "O" Clone. This may well be a replica but is is extremely well built, those who have one say it as good as the original. When fitted with a Twin blade it is a good Razor, when that blade is fresh as it is today it provides an ultra smooth/ efficient Shave, the finish of which is as good as the best that I get from my Vintage/ Modern SE Razors. In fact a real "Face Stroker", with the skin feeling soft and refreshed thanks to the Tabac.

Chose not to allow the recent disappointment with my AC shave to allow fear to grow of the Feather Professional blade. This morning my shave featured the Razorock Black Hawk and a wonderfully lubricating lather from my Saponificio Varesino soap. The Feather blade is still very sharp and produced a really close if a little hesitant shave with no damage done. I am still a little uncertain about using these blades at all.

Cadman Custom Synth - Arran Lochranza - General Brass w/West Coast Shaving Handle - Schick Proline P #10 - Alum - Superdrug Sierran Breeze A/S - Dove Nourishing Cream

Description of the bowl from Arran:
“Modelled on a pebble from Whiting Bay, the Arran Shave Stone is a traditional shave bowl with an island twist.”
It was the look that attracted me and it's made from resin. What I didn't expect was the weight of the bowl, 500g excluding the soap. Definitely not to be dropped on anything delicate. The soap was was a pleasant surprise. Lathering was really easy and long lasting. With excellent lasting slickness (my favourite attribute). The scent was fresh, citrus, floral and spicy with Patchouli lingering throughout. Very happy indeed.

Enjoy the rest of this good weather. I will !!!
