From Monday;
MÜHLE Rocca - Nacet
Nivea Sensitive Gel

I'm not proud of myself, but I needed an über-quick shave so grabbed a little Nivea Sensitive foaming gel and slapped it on. Foam dissipated and I was left with a slightly sticky, slightly slick layer. I am, however, impressed with this razor and blade combination. It mowed down a few days' growth without issue or irritation, even if there was next-to-no protection.

Next time it'll be done properly, I swear! :D

Sunday was a quick but excellent and what I like to term a 'vanilla' shave: my most used kit, no unknown variables, all reliable well used stuff. Straightforward, easy and very comfortable.

Merkur 34c, Gillette Platinum
Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic
Ingram
Blue Stratos AS
Astral

I usually shave every two days as I've no more office to go to and although my facial hair is fairly thick and tough, it isn't that dense - no bluebeard here. Also, a wooden pot of Taylor's Sandalwood shaving soap had just landed in my little world so I was a bit excited to see how it would perform. Tuesday went like this:

Gillette Rocket HD, Gillette 7 o'clock Black
Whipped Dog Butterscotch 30mm 2-band
Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Shaving Soap
Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr Taylor's AS
Astral

I love the iconic Rocket HD but my technique with it can sometimes be a little off being so used to the 34c. However, I must have been on form today as it turned out to be a really great shave. The thing I really want to highlight here is the soap. It lathered up gloriously with yon beast of a brush (enough lather to shave my wee Border Terrier!), the scent isn't all that strong but is most pleasant and uplifting however the main boon is its marvellous performance. Slick, cushioning with great glide, kind on my skin plus it's thick and protective. Better than I thought it would be and although it's early days, it could well be a big favourite with future orders on the books. So far, so excellent and I can foresee a 'Highly Recommended' tag for this classy shaving soap. Must get some Sandalwood AS and cologne.Ta muckle,TOBS!

Some wonderful photographs, gentlemen. Colour me impressed!

P&B Whitechapel ~ T&H Wellington ~ Ever-Ready 1912 SunRay ~ GEM PTFE ~ Alum

Nice, very nice. What difference a year makes!? I first purchased Whitechapel last year when it first came out and didn't get on with it at all, not much has changed other than perhaps my state of mind... Anyway, fantastic scent and performance. Also experimenting with aftershaves at the moment as I'm not happy with my current regime, splashes dry me out and balms cause me to break out so thought I'd try good old alum.

I didn't get the chance to post last week (was lazy :D) so here it goes:

30.08.2018
Taylor of Old Bond Street Eton College cream - damn fine smell, fresh and elegant in the same time
Simfix SF1 Synthetic - I think this may be a very good replacement for my Loccitane Plissoft as the go to travel brush
Rockwell #4 with Feather - good BBS
Myrsol Balsamic water - my least favorite of the Myrsol bunch

01.09.2018
SV Tundra Artica - very refreshing smell and good performance
Simpsons Duke 3 Manchurian - I am yet to master this brush in order to make a thick leather with it. It generates a good leather, but not perfect. It may be that I'm adding too much water too fast (same approach which I have with synthetics and delivers great results)
Gillette Super Speed with Gillette 7 O'Clock - very mild and pleasant shave, even though not quite BBS
RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiori AS - best smelling AS so far and it lingers for the entire day

Wednesday 5th September

YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Palmolive Stick
Rockwell 6C R4
Voskhod (4)
Floid Mentolado Vigoroso
Creed Aventus

The soft Scottish water helped make an excellent lather from the Palmolive Stick.
The blade on it's fourth use is showing no signs of dulling, and felt smooth and comfortable.
We're eating out an Indian restaurant just outside of Ayr tonight. No washing up in the caravan !

soap: P&B unscented with a piece of Art of Shaving Sandalwood added to spice up lather
brush: Barbershop by Johan Finest 27 mm badger
blade: Heljestrand No4 in Söderfors Extra Special steel, got another No4 in normal steel and can't say I notice any difference

Have started paying more attention to stropping to help my straight razors keep up with my shavettes.

Brush: DSCosmetics Galaxy RS2 26mm
Soap: Fine Platinum
Razor: Rockwell 6C Plate 3
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge (3)
Balm: Bart's Amber and Moroccan Jasmine
AS Lotion: Bart's Amber and Moroccan Jasmine

Well what can i say the star of the shave was Bart's to me the closest to the scent of Creed Aventus
the only thing i don't like is that i'm to spend more money :D
