Greetings,

August 'Adjustable' week.

After my weekly 'no guard' buzzcut with my wahl hair clippers it was that time again for my monthly head shave.

Maiden face & head shave with the Mers SuperShave X Platinum blade which are manufactured in china made of swedish steel and paired together admirably with the ming shi 2000s making a smooth efficient chinese produced Razor & blade duo.

My monthly head shaves have vastly improved both my shaving confidence and technique multitude.

Another smooth effortless performance from the Ming Shi 2000s resulting in a wonderful BBS face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Moisturising Lotion.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

First time shaving with a str8. And it went surprisingly well. I'm still alive, uninjured, and well-shaved. 2-pass DFS++, not a single cut, the skin is fresh and healthy. I was eager to make a 3rd pass but ultimately decided to back off (for now). Some problems occurred with slickness: I blame that oil, never had good results with it. I think my best pre-shave procedure is to wash the face with quality natural soap and then apply some excessive lather/blooming water. The oils just don't do it for me. Now the cream smells terrific and offers plenty of protection. And it was probably wise to pick a guarded blade for the first outing.
All-in-all I'm very satisfied and had lots of fun.
I'll probably stay with this razor+blade for the next few shaves just to build some muscle memory.
It was a good beginning on this special day.

I have used that Razor and blade for years, and still find it to be the best combo - smooth, efficient and troublefree. But as always YMMV.
Remember to stretch your skin. Train and use both your hands. Shave slowly, and make shure that your lather is wet and slick. I find no need for preshave oil. Just wet my face, facelather to the later is right and go...
Good luck. I'm shure you will get there.

SOTD 1st Aug 2020

Razor - Paradigm SE
Blade - Schick Proline P.30
Soap - Czech & Speake - Oxford & Cambridge
Brush - Alpha Outlaw V1 Ti - Rhodium Silverrtip
Post- Thayers Astringent
Frag - Pour un Homme De Carron

My first shave for nearly a week after a nasty reaction to a pine tar soap that left my face sore and dry so I had a fair bit of stubble to knock down.
The lavender scented C&S shave soap was soon whipped into a luxurious creamy lather with the aid of the fab Alpha V1 Silvertip and the Paradigm SE fitted out with a Proline made short work of removing the scruffy course grey beard that had grown over the last six days.
Finishing off with a splash of Thayers astringent and followed by a spray here and there of the lovely Pour un Homme EdT left me feeling clean, fresh and more human again. :)

The 1st of August and we are soon to be looking at a second lockdown, so keep yourselves safe and well,

Untill the next time,

Paul.

Thank you! I do just that. Probably the reason the first time went so smooth. The only mistake was the pre-shave oil. I don't usually use it but decided to go all-in this time. It proved to be redundant.

I decided last minute to give the T-I a run out this morning, i had given it a few laps on the pasted balsa so i wanted to try it out.
It has been a while since i used the Faena and it whipped up easily to give a lovely face covering.
I completed a full WTG pass with the T-I and although i am getting a shave from it, it really does not feel as smooth as the other Str8 razors i have? It may need to be re-honed, not sure yet?
The next blade from the mixed trial pack in the dispenser was a Muhle, not used them before and will not be buying any, neither smooth or sharp for me, i will give it another run tomorrow.
All a bit Meh! apart from the soap which was a real positive.
Stay Safe and enjoy your day All
