SOTD Saturday 19th Sept to Friday 25th Sept 2020

Thursday 24th September

Brush - YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Soap - Noble Otter Monarch
Razor - Timeless 0.68 SS Scalloped
Blade - Ladas (2)
Post - Pinaud Clubman

Ladas blade on it's second use was still keen, and not showing any sign of losing smoothness.
It's good to re-visit blades that I haven't used for long time, and I'm enjoying the Ladas.

A good shave - just about BBS all over, and very little tingle from applying Clubman Aftershave which is quite high in alcohol.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club LE 2012 Mixed Badger/Boar
Soap: Antica Barberia Colla
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword Light Brigade (8)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Proraso Green A/S Splash

Effortless BBS shave.

Thursday and Friday:

Razorock Mamba
Kent Infinity
Timeless Bowl
Proraso Green Tea and Oat
Kai Stainless

Have had problems with Kai blades when I tried them over a year ago, these last two were fantastic. I wouldn't have believed they were the same blade. Do you suppose blades improve after they have had time to age? Maybe relieve the stress from the long international flight?

I wonder how many shaves I will get? When I tried them before, it was a one and done, but that has improved 100% so far.

Date:- 25 September 2020

Brush:- Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo Synth. 24/53mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mike's Natural ~ Bay Rum

25/9/20

Razor - Flat Bottom Tech
Blade - Supermax Blue Diamond Platinum (1)
Brush - Yaqi Rainbow Faux Horse 26mm
Soap - MWF/Kent
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Cool Kick
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

I'd not used a SMX BDP for a while, and it was a little tuggy in places for the first pass but incredibly smooth for the 2nd pass, and the results with the MWF were a very smooth and comfortable shave. A really exceptional lather today, and on the good days I can't really think of a better soap for a slick lather, with one of the best post shaves; moisturising without it ever being greasy.

Have a good day Gents.

A totally unexpected care package arrived this morning from Rob (thanks mate) so I took full advantage and used some of the contents immediately :D

Jabones de Joserra Spanish Fern - If you have used Eufros Fougere then the scent is along the same lines though IMO, the Joserra is better balanced and blended (Eufros smell like a clumsy jumble of EO's to me, fine for some but I can't abide them, sorry.)

Performance was good, I would say level pegging with Eufros which is the obvious comparison both being Spanish artisans and priced similarly. I'll be totally honest, I still prefer Monsavon, La Toja, Speick etc for performance... They just suit me better but this stuff is good and is comparable to any of the top US artisan soaps I've used.

So good scent and good performance, if you like Eufros Fougere then you'll love this but if you already own the Eufros then this would be a redundant purchase IMO.

Why did it take me so long to get a proper EJ DE89 instead of a Chinese made copy its 10x better and what can i say about the cheap Piccadilly shaving cream its fantastic i'm tempted to travel to TOBS and pick up a couple more
Interesting to read that the genuine razors are better than the knock-offs.

Fri 25th Sept.

Jayaruh yn.No67
Vitos Super Red
Schick Repeater C1
Schick Proline [ 1 ]
GB Grey Flannel A/S Lotion

I finished off this Injector rotation with a Schick C1 . The Schick Repeaters do look rather intimidating, but provided that a take care/no rush approach is adopted, they Shave very well. In fact todays Shave was Smooth/Comfortable and the finish attained comparable with any that I get from the best of my Injectors, with the finish on the cheeks being exceptional. Must use them more often.
