A very productive morning today, got up early and set up the honing stones, i have been doing a clean up on some old dogs, the H. Paashaus being one of them. It needed quite a bit of work as the point had been snapped off, that was ground down first then it cleaned up well.
I set up the cheap hone set 1st to remove the chips and level the edge.
After watching a few videos and making some notes I was feeling pretty confident so set up the new Naniwa hones and took the razor from the 1K setting the bevel, through 3K, 5K, 8K and finishing on the 12K, these Naniwa stones are much easier to use and much better than the cheapo set, i could actually see the edge changing as i went, finishing in a mirror finish.
It was tree topping like no tomorrow.
With that little booster i decided to take the newly acquired Hermes (thanks to BST) through the same progression, this turned out even better.

Today's shave was supposed to be with the Rex to give the new brush a run out, did i mention, it did not half bloom after its 1st shampoo.
So 2 freshly honed razors in hand i decided it would be a 3 razor shave.

This brush is a lather monster, wonderful on the face, it did lose a couple of hairs and i am hoping that's it. Very happy with it.
I Planned to use the H. P. on the Left hand side and the Hermes on the right hand side with a planned final pass with the Rex.
I completed a WTG pass using both straights, the Hermes definitely the better edge, the H.P needs a bit work on the heel and toe. Still very acceptable. I then completed a 2nd pass using both razors WTG /ATG, a decent SAS finish without issue.
A Final buffing pass using the Rex for a DFS+ finish.
The post shave leaving me comfortable and smelling real nice.
Grinning like a Cheshire Cat and confident to keep going with the honing.
Stay Safe and enjoy your day All.

Razor - Alu Karve - D plate
blade - Nacet (?8)
soap - Extro Egyptian Oud
brush - Semogue Torga boar
post - witch hazel
a/s - Floid Mentally Vigorous
balm - none
scent - Oud Isfahan edp.

Great - first chance to try my newly acquired Semogue Torga - everything I wanted it to be - solid chunky resin handle, denser than average knot and a shorter loft than is normal for boar. Ideal for face lathering - which is just as well - since that is the only way I shave. It doesn't look properly broken in yet - so it is only going to get better. All good - enjoy your shaves one and all - take care - I.

@patw - thanks.

Good work Tony , nothing like using a razor you cleaned up and honed yourself. Well done mate.

Thanks Russ, these little trials have put a lot of my fears to rest.
Yes, I have a long way to go, however, now I am somewhat more confident.
Just need to do a few more and some refreshes. I will do this on the old stuff as something is bound to go wrong at one point.

P & B Spitfire
PAL Injectomatic
Schick Proline [ 4 ]
P & B Spitfire A/S Splash

Getting in the swing of the Injector rotation, The Injectomatic has to be carefully handled, take care and no rush and one can get a great Shave, but may bite if one does not. I quite like this British challenge to Schick Razors, and I get good Shaves with one.
