SOTD 23 May.jpg
Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Bulldog face wash and Proraso white
Razor: iKon 103
Blade: Wilkinson Sword England (#4)
Brush: Simpson Commodore X3 Best Badger
Soap: Vitos Extra Super
Bowl: Korium
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea 2 phase

First shave with my latest brush. I decided it was time to try a Simpsons badger and I narrowed my choice down to the Commodore X3 in best badger. At £47.18 from amazon it seemed like a good deal, and it was. I washed it once with shampoo and then did a test lather the other night, today was the first proper use and what great brush this is. The hair was more like my silvertip brushes (Kent, Hans Baier and Mason Pearson), it feels really soft but there is more than enough backbone. I can now see why Simpsons have been around so long and why they have a good reputation. I still like my really dense Maseto finest brushes but I am now intrigued to find out what a Maseto or Simpsons Silvertip would be like.

Glycerine Soap
Grapeseed Shaving Oil with additional EO's
Plissoft Brush
RR Hawk
Feather ProGuard
Gillette Mach3
Alum
Witch Hazel lotion
Speick AS
Eyüp Sabri Tuncer Limon Kolonyasi

Touched up and finished off with the Mach3. I had a smooth shave, but not really impressed with the Hawk.

Lovely brush. Newton Heath has a special place in my heart, and not just because of a certain football club.
Can you please tell me a little more about this brush, @LESLIE ASARE?

Many thanks Tom, appreciate your kind words. The brush is an Ever Ready 200 Replica made by Leo Frilot at Perfect Woodworks. He can pretty much design any sports themed brush and set a custom coin at the base. I supplied the lapel pin badge and he converted it to a coin. I also sent him the brush knot too. I originally wanted a MUFC themed brush, but went with retro Newton Heath for nostalgia.

Greetings,

After my previous 'Epic Maiden Shave' with the newly aquired Parker Variant,i've used a equally loved de razor for my shave, which is my favourite every occasion DE razor that i have in my shaving den.

The R89/ Super-max platinum blade paired together wonderfully, excellent combo...I'm really fond of my Muhle & Merkur razors, what ever blade i've paired with both makes of razors, up with, it's resulted in a acceptable comfortable dfs...what more could i ask for?,'hats off to german made razors'.

A superb fragranced lather was provided from the Pecksniff's cream, thick slick, & protective leaving a great post shave feeling to my face...

A very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Selin ~ Turkish Lemon Cologne .

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Prep ~ Shower, Valbora Glycerlanolina soap
Razor ~ Gem OCMM
Blade ~ Gem Stainless
Soap ~ Agua de Coloinia Concentrada - Alvarez Gomez
Brush ~ Omega badger 6209
Bowl ~ TSR Group buy
Post ~ Vitos Tobacco Aftershave
Scent ~ Agua de Coloinia Concentrada EDC - Alvarez Gomez

A great razor in so many respects and it gives a wonderful shave.
The shave cream was soon whipped into life and the scent from it is amazing, it's got good slip N slide as well as good protection too.
The 6209 badger was more than capable although it lacks much backbone, it's still a nice brush.
I was left with super smooth skin without nicks or irritation.
A splash of the Vitos aftershave to wake me up followed by a liberal application of the Cologne from Alvarez Gomez, perfect! :)

Have a nice day people......P.

Thanks for the info:). Have sent PM.

Morning shave

Olive Oil Soap
Fitjar Islands Fjellheim
Semogue Owners Club Cherry Boar
Little Wren Pottery
Brass General
Proline (4)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
Fitjar Islands Aftershave Gel
Acqua Di Parma Mirto di Panarea EDT

For me, with my very limited experience, and only including the razors I actually own, the General/Proline combo provides the optimum balance of comfort and efficiency. A marvellous shave every time. Have a good day gents.

Thursday

Prep: The usual shower
Razor: MÜHLE R89
Blade: Derby Premium (1)
Soap: Soap Commander - Endurance - classic spice
Brush: Yaqi 24m synthetic
Post: Humphrey's Witchhazel & Bulldog After Shave Balm

With my skin being better after the experiments with the Baili BT171A I thought to give the MÜHLE another go. That was my first DE razor and so far, I have not been happy with it. I was just about to sell it again.
Maybe it was me just getting more practice by now, the Derby-blade or the soap, today I am very happy it. Smooth, no irritation, just a nice shave.

Greetings

Thursday 24th May 2018
Prep: Shower
Razor: Muhle R41 (2013)
Blade: Gillette Nacet
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
Soap: Leftovers Mixture
Aftershave: Simple Moisteriser
EDP: Miller Harris Le Cedre

My second shave with this brush and it is certainly perfectly decent, but I think that's it! I will carry on using it and give it a good trial but even at this early stage I can tell it will not make the 'cut' of my top few brushes. This morning I tested it against the APShave Co. Cashmere knot and it is for me well behind on flex (the cashmere is more flexible) and even though this knot is soft like all the latest generation of knots it has a more 'rugged' face feel.

Regards
Dick.
