Thur 23rd Aug

Omega 10005 boar
Vitos Super Red
ATT SE-G
Gem S/S [1 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

Paperweight Revived.:)

I had given up using my ATT SE-G as I could not get a Shave with it unless I used a shim. I was not alone in this situation, and Paul @Blademonkey modified the base plate by reducing the depth and width of the blade guard.
He has kindly leant it to me to try with my Razor. It arrived Yesterday, so I quickly fitted it to my Razor with a fresh
blade. Tried the Razor dry on one cheek, and now felt the blade whereas before that feel was absent. Felt quite excited at the prospect of Shaving with it.

Today lathered up with the dependable Vitos, and it was obvious from the off that this was a Razor that worked. The first strokes indicated that that whiskers were being eliminated, yet the action was very smooth. I continued to have a smooth and comfortable Shave, but was careful not to push it too hard on a first outing. However, I was more than pleased with the finish quality and as there was no post Shave problems, I shall have a back to back Shave tomorrow. Amazing that it has taken a Forum member to turn the ATT SE-G into the kind of Razor that one would associate with ATT. Well done Paul for showing what should have been done by the manufacturer.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say about it tomorrow Mike, it works for me I just hope it's efficient enough for your super tough stubble:) P.

Thanks must go to @Blackmass for this sample, cheers Rob.
It's probably because of my unsophisticated nose but I find the scent a bit of a mess.
On the other hand the performance is up to the usual Wholly Kaw standard and a great shave ensued.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Don't be too hard on your nose K, I'm sure it's not as unsophisticated as you make out! :) P.

Last night;
Tatara Masamune - OC.
Nacet - First Use.
APR Fresca.
YaQi.

Now we're talking! A few days' growth obliterated by this combination. Smooth sailing to achieve smoother results. One pass and touch-ups and I'm more than happy with the outcome with absolutely no irritation whatsoever.
This seems to be a razor I could very much get on board with, especially in this format with the open comb, and the blade feel it generates.

T&H Lavender ~ T&H Wellington ~ Merkur 34c ~ 7 o'clock Yellow ~ Nivea 2-Phase ~ Caldey Island Lavender EdT

Second use of the discontinued T&H Lavender, I thought my first use of it was spoilt by a slightly smelly (new) brush but nope, its just a rubbish cream  Scent is a weak, bland, non descript lavender-esque something and performance was just OK, on the whole it cant hold a candle to the budget Ach Brito Lavanda let alone something with lavender EO's.

I was originally disappointed to see it had been discontinued but take my word, its no great loss, T&H knew exactly what they were doing dropping it... I would like to think their ultimate comfort lavender EO cream is far superior.

Heno de Pravia glycerine soap pre-wash - Zenith 506 TS - Haslinger Honig - Rocnel SE-P OC - ½ Supermax Blue Diamond #1 - Alum - BigBoar's No4 Bay Rum - Dove Instant Hydration Cream

It's a pleasant coincidence that this planned shave includes @BigBoar's legendary Bay Rum. And as Greg has made a welcome return to us, I can again sing it's praises.
It finished off a great shave with the unique Rocnel.

Prep: Warm rinse, Nivea Sensitive Face Wash then Proraso Pre Shave cream Eucalyptus and Menthol
Cream: Alvarez Gomez Barberia (sample)
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Feather (2)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber then Nivea 2 Phase followed by Alvarez Gomez Barberia balm (sample).Very methodical this evening. Really taking my time especially on my neck.

A slow blade, really paying attention to every stroke, pays dividends. Knowing I get a closer more comfortable shave with two days growth, I wanted to shave again today so took my time. I still can't get used to having stubble at work! [emoji30]

My 1st and 2nd passes went as normal however on the 3rd I got in close to the mirror and really slowed everything down. Watching my angle I literally saw the usual rough bits disappear with each stroke. Even looking at the blade I could see how much more was coming off. Result.

To say I love this game is an understatement. Each shave has its good points and bad points, every day a school day. I think I get a good shave one day then the next is often (not always!) better. That's been a month and a half, shaving almost every day, and I'm still learning - good and bad!

I also can't believe the difference different products make.

My current favourites are BBA face wash (though (that's) now away with the newbies pass around box), Proraso Pre Shave cream, my Merkur 34c (though I have not really tried anything else properly), Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless, Alvarez Gomez Barberia cream, Thayers Witch Hazel toner and Barts balm.

I used a Feather blade again today, and yes it's super sharp, but I think it's just that bit too aggressive at the moment. I thought it was the blade for me, but I'm going back to the Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless for the time being.

The Alvarez Gomez performed flawlessly and I love its scent. The lather is a joy to behold.

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Have a great evening folks. [emoji482]

Hi Gordy, the 34c is a great little razor that pairs very well with Polsilver blades. Pm me if you haven't tried the Polsilver's yet and I will send you a tuck.

Shower, D.R. Harris Almond Oil Soap
Ever-Ready Streamline
Treet Super - Carbon steel
Dusy Kabinett
SOC Badger & Boar
Thayers Rose petal
Christian Dior ~ Oud Isphahan (Decant)

Another super smooth shave from the Treet Super carbon steel blade this time paired with my Streamline, the Dusy Kabinett with its light rose scent was soon whipped into a creamy lather by my fab SOC Bodger. With skin left as smooth as a really smooth thing I splashed some Thayers Rose Petal on to the shaved skin and then to finnish a few sprays here and there of the wonderful Dior Oud Isphahan, Perfect!

Untill the next time..:) P.
