Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Second outing with the Mers Supershave X Platinum blade which paired together nicely with the Muhle R41 making a smooth efficient duo.

As always this inexpensive soap provided a luxurious protective slick lather....The monsavon au lait has become one of my favourite shaving soaps, the post shave feeling it gives is absolutely superb, making each shave i have with it a very enjoyable shaving experience....Outstandingly good what more can i say.

A pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Today felt like a sandalwood day. Sometimes you just can't beat the classics. I actually looked forward to this shave and it didn't disappoint. I'm pleased to report that Skippy and I are now an item. The B Proline works well in this razor. She's proven herself against 1 and 2.5 days growth.

Tray: just a tray
Pre: Hot water and Ach Brito Glyce Lime soap wash
Shaving soap: Tcheon Fung Sing Vecchia Torino

Razor: Merkur 34G

Post: Cold water rinse | Alum | 2nd cold water rinse | TFS Vecchia Torino AS and Cologne

Vecchia1.jpg

The TFS Vecchia Torino is an excellent soap...or more accurately a croap. It's the same consistency as your typical Phoenix & Beau and performs just as well IMHO. A barbershop size 400ml tub for around £20... a no-brainer in my book. The soap scent is very traditional and very light. It reminded me a little of GFT Eucris, but performed far better. It may be an acquired taste, but I really like it. The aftershave and EDT have a tremendously old barbershop style fragrance as well. I got the 250ml splash and it has a regulator cap so you won't use far more than you need and it should last for some considerable time. The EDT is 100ml and has a spray nozzle. I really enjoyed the shaving ritual with this stuff and it was topped of with my new scuttle that replaces my broken ‘Thrown In Stone' one. This one is narrower but taller and I prefer it. It fits more easily on the corner of the sink and holds more hot water in the reservoir, so it keeps the brush and soap warmer for longer.

Have a restful weekend all:);)(y)

Not a very good shave today, the shaving gods were not looking on me favourably, Why i am not sure?
Everything was set up for an enjoyable Shave as i had a nice sharp razor at hand, a wonderful lather on the face,
I started my usual routine and everything was going OK, i completed the first pass on the RH side of my face & neck and then moved onto the top lip, i went to rinse the razor and noticed blood dripping into the water?, i didn't feel anything and could not spot where it was coming from, then a large drop landed on my shoulder, it came from my ear lobe? i can only think that when stretching my baggy face my lobe has moved into the blade, schoolboy error!
Anyway after a lot of pressure, cold water and the age old loo paper patch i managed to stop the flow.
I continued with the shave but my heart was not in it, the ear bled another twice and i had to stop it each time.
so an interrupted 2 pass shave giving me an SAS finish, and a 5-8mm slice down my lobe to boot.
I got quite a bit reaction to the splash, although everything is calm now.
Sitting writing this sporting another loo roll patch ( very fetching) and a bit disappointed with myself.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
