Sotd - Friday the 22nd of November

prep - Bulldog facial scrub
razor - face - Ikon X3 slant on a Rockwell SS handle - head - Gillette 2 blade sensitive
blade - Super Max Titanium (1)
brush - Simpsons P8 Phyl Best - seen above - bloomed - a thing of beauty
soap - face - Tabac cream - head - African Black soap
post - witch hazel - head and face
a/s - Tabac - head and face
balm - De Vergulde Hand - head and face.

Result - back in the land of the living.

I've been sick - proper sick - not man flu - which as we all know is a potentially fatal condition - not that our partners would agree - just because we don't give birth doesn't mean we can't feel pain? - granted - not an attitude I've found much sympathy from girl bears with - proper sick - I'll spare you the details - first shave in six days - I managed to drag my sorry ass into the bathroom - thought to celebrate by shaving everything above the collar - excepting eyebrows - and I'm glad I did. I feel so much better. There are many Tabac fans here - myself included - but few mention the cream version - excellent to my understanding - super slick - and if anything - the scent is even stronger than the hard soap. Nice to find the X3 head at the back of the den - I like my slants - and for some reason I had been neglecting this one - it will tame the harshest of blades - like the Super Max - ordinarily - scary and waiting to bite - if not in the right razor. So - job done - I'm not entirely sure I will put after shave on a freshly shaved scalp again - bracing - certainly - but witch hazel and balm - might do just fine - in the future. Enjoy your shaves - I.

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
MWF
PAL Injectomatic
Schick S/S -Japan [ 6 ]
Tuff Green A/S Lotion

Today the Shave with the "Schick -Buster" was very good. But because the E2 used yesterday was fitted with the Superb Dutch Schick blade, the finish yesterday was better. Unfortunately, I only have a few of these rather rare NOS blades so in future Shaves the PAL may well come out tops.

Good to see your return from your 'proper sickness'. I like the idea of a 'real sickness club'.

Taking heed of what Iain@Digimonkey warned i thought id better get the Eagle on watch.
Another nice shave today and better again on #2.75, as the dial does not click into place on the Model T, it can be set at very small increments, @ 2.75 it seems ideal for the Polsilver Blade (for me). The Model T has got me thinking REX!!!
3 passes for a Damn Near Perfect shave, nothing from the block and a very nice post shave routine.
BBS, feeling and smelling good.
Have a great Day All.

This morning's shave was a good'un. The Imperial Rum has a very pleasant citrus scent and the OSS did a wonderful job, efficient and comfortable. The Feather blade is on its fifth shave, excellent.

Great 3 Pass face BBS. The Barbasol Floating Head shaved smoothly, but not as efficiently as I would like. My R41 and Colonial Silversmith are both much more efficient allowing a 2 pass BBS. The Cryogen AS had me holding the side of the sink after applying it as clouds of incredibly strong menthol kept my eyes watering for 10-15 minutes afterwards! Wow!! I've got to get the matching soap puck!

SOTD 11/22/19

BRUSH: Omega Pro84 Boar

POSTSHAVE: Cold water face wash with Tabac soap brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished (or should I say gassed) with Chiseled Face Cryogen AS Splash

Brush - Yaqi Plissoft
Soap - Signature Soaps A Coria
Razor - Old Type
Blade - Gillette Winner (5)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Intesa Glacial Lotion

I think after quite a while I'm getting the hang using my Old Type, and I'm really producing superb results with it - testament to how important technique is as previously I'd blame this razor for not being efficient enough but that was user error for not using the correct angle with the razor.

Another really superb lather with Signature Soaps, today I used the A Coria Rose soap. I'm getting to grips to how much water the lather can take to reach it's sweet spot for cushion, glide and slickness. In terms of building a lather it's very forgiving for finding the sweet spot, I'd say more so than something like Tabac. I wasn't the biggest fan of the A Coria scent, but my nose is definitely growing to appreciate it more with each shave.

Anyway chaps, have a good Friday.

The weekend is almost with us....
