OK, OK, OK, i know its Vintage month, however, a loaner SE turned up in the post today and i could not stop myself.
Thanks to @Boycie83 for the loan of his lovely Razorock Stainless Hawk.
Because i am on "the Clock" so to speak i completed the first pass with the vintage razor and finished with the Hawk.

A very nice lather from the Vintage soap and brush giving me plenty of lather for the shave.
The first pass went well, WTG - Cheeks and Chin, ATG on the Neck. The finish was pretty good and the blade felt good, again, i may revisit the hones with this one to see if it can be improved, i am still very much a novice on the hones. The steel on this Mysterious French razor is very hard and it took a bit extra time to get an edge on it originally.
I finished off the shave with the Hawk using the standard plate, it seems quite mild, although, i will need to get to know the razor better.
I like it, it feels great in the hand and i like the weight and balance of it, i will continue to use it as a secondary razor to get to grips with my technique.
So, DFS++ finish, feeling and smelling good.
Stay safe and enjoy your day ll.

Wednesday's Shave

Pre: Argan Oil Soap
Soap: Signature Soaps Coria
Brush: 30mm Chubby Synbad
Splash: Hega Original
Balm: Bart's Unscented
EDT: ADP Ambra

The razor is on loan from the Boyce Razor Library :) My first thought when I saw it was should i shave with it or find a small sheep that needed shearing. I also now understand why Charlie Chaplin and Hitler had those little moustaches they had one of these :)

Joking aside it makes a great noise and was a lovely smooth shave.

Wednesday 20th January

Wash with French Pink Clay & Charcoal face soap
Lather up with Vie-Long Shaving Stick & Omega 98 (Boar)
Single pass shave with mirror polished Muhle Rocca R96 & Gillette Super Blue (3)
Hot rinse, cold rinse & Pinaud Clubman Aftershave

Smoothest yet from this blade ... it just got a smidge better despite an apparent drop in sharpness. Smooth with near imperceptible blade feel.

Good evening gents

Soap- Spitfire
Brush- Yaqi 26mm Timberwolf
Blade- Nacet #3
Razor- Progress (Dial 2 and then 4)
Post- Alum and Spitfire Balm
Splash- Spitfire4A694313-E824-4C4F-87CF-EA1D62347CF9.jpeg

Dial 2 for WTG and then up to a 4 for the XTG and ATG passes. No dramas just a nice smooth and easy shave. One small weeper when I wasn't concentrating, which the alum soon sorted.

Have a good evening everyone and stay safe.

To save all the hassle of yet another photo shoot this shave was themed 'What was to be and wasn't is now'

Have the same photo in glorious monochrome

IMG_20210118_095302.jpg

It is today - Aluminum General
It was to be but wasn't - Feather Super Professional
Where it wasn't it was - Yaqi Mew Brown
Was not was - ADP Collezione

When my son was about three and after being a little rat the day before I remember saying to him, 'Well you have been good today haven't you?' To which he replied 'I used to didn't but I do now'. Took me a little time to work that one out.

The shave

The aluminium General finally gets its day after being cast aside so unceremoniously for the sake of a night at home. But it made up for its involuntary absence by turning in a smashing shave. In fact it did itself exceptionally proud and produced a real sterling finish without any drama. So far for an aluminium I am rather pleased with the results I am getting. I am not going to say it is on par with its heavy metal brothers because it isn't. It lacks their finesse, control and their smooth ride but it certainly knocks on the door. One day you can be a big kid like them. One day it's owner might just grow up as well.

ADP and the Mew Brown? What can I say? Not much really as they proved their worth some time back and nothing has changed.

So a great bit of sink time with results which brought some light to an otherwise overcast grey day. Welcome Christoph you miserable twat.

Welcome onboard ladies and join the smoothest of captains on the world's largest vibrator.

Say no more! Tip top chaps

But do have some Aldious. @Digimonkey this is all for you
