SOTD: Saturday 16th February - Friday 22nd February 2019.

Saturday February16:

Razors : Fatip Grande Gentile and Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blades : both razors Derby Extra
Brush : Omega
Soap : De Vergulde Hand extra fris
Alum : De Vergulde Hand
Aftershave : Nivea Men Protect & Care

1 side with the Fatip, the other side of my face with the Wilkinson.
Both were smooth this time.
Why the Fatip was Friday less smooth then the Wilkinson, I don't know.
Probable causes :
A 2 day beard
Once I read blades get better after 1 or 2 shaves

Verdict : nice blades resulting in a good / fine shave

Sat 16th Feb.

RazoRock Syn. 22mm
Lea Classic Soap
PAL S/S Adjustable
Schick- Japan [ 2 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

I Shaved today with a real favourite of mine the PAL Adjustable, which prior to the coming of AC/SE I always selected for use when I wanted a special occasion Shave. This PAL for me Shaves very smoothly and though forgiving is also efficient and delivers without fuss a good close all round Shave. This is quite apparent as I write this early on Sunday morning , as the regrowth from Saturday`s Shave is at a nice low level.

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Aqua Velva ASL.(European Version)

Aloe Vera Gel.

Greetings,

A relaxing Sunday 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report.

The williams mug shaving soap is becoming a regular addition to my shave set ups, this wonderful in-expensive soap after been bloomed for 5 minutes in hot tap water, rubbed directly into my stubble like a shave stick, then face lathered with a damp brush adding water to the tips of the brush, between each pass, once passed the airy/bubbly stage your rewarded with a slick protective lather, leaving a superb past shave feel to the face..

The Pearl SBF-11 / Gillette 7'0 Clock super platinum, was yet another wonderful match...A very enjoyable sunday morning shave.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.

Saturday 16th February

YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
La Toja Stick
Rockwell 6C R4
Vintage Schick Platinum (7)
Paul Smith Aftershave

The Schick Platinum blade seems to be everlasting. Retaining smoothness and cutting ability. @TomG
La Toja Stick always produces an excellent lather without requiring too much water. The residual slickness is off the scale.
Finished with Paul Smith Aftershave. I know it's a summer scent, but it was sunny in the East Midlands yesterday !

Sun 17th Feb.

Cyril Salter/ Maseto ED. 2 Band
OSP Bay Rum
Schick Type "O" Clone
Schick S/S Twin - Japan [ 12 ]
Bay Rum A/S Splash - a L`Electrif.

Today I used a Regular Sunday Morning Razor - The "O" Clone, as I know it is going to deliver a smooth comfortable Shave, with a great close finish. It is really a bit of a cop out using this, as it is so forgiving that you can Shave in a cavalier fashion without getting punished. Despite getting a good finish, I felt that with the PAL yesterday I got a closer finish on the Chin, but the blade was fresher and I was really concentrating on getting a good Shave.

Great shave.

The Hawk with the Rockwell chrome handle is working really well. The razor is so much easier to use and it's performance has went up another level.

I won the Stirling Finest Badger brush recently and this is its second outing. I actually didn't think using another brush would make that much of a difference, but how wrong was I? It's a fantastic brush with a lot more backbone that ES's synthetic Wee Jock. It just has to look at a soap and the lather explodes! Great.

I've got ES's Claymore SE coming next week thanks to another member and the BST forum. I'm reading that it can be aggressive and I'm looking forward to seeing how it shapes up against the Hawk.

But this has been a great shave this evening. Brilliant.

Have a great weekend folks. [emoji1303]

The Claymore is good providing that you do not rush, avoid pressure and let the weight do the work. I now use a different handle on mine.

Excellent shave this morning. The Progress set to 2 cleaned away lather and stubble effortlessly, leaving me smooth and smelling distinctly Italian.
