A lavender shave this early evening...
  • Warm pre-wash with Ach Brito Glyce Lime soap
  • Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Tuxedo brush
  • TOBS Lavender shaving cream
  • Lathered in newly acquired and repurposed Tibetan 'Singing Bowl'
  • Leaf razor with Gillette Nacet in slots 2 and 3
  • Extro Lavanda Muschio AS
  • Ach Brito Lavanda cologne
DSC_0940.JPG

Another nice shave with the Leaf, but I'm going to revert to using only slots 1 and 2, as slot 3 makes it a little more aggressive than I prefer. No razor burn or cuts though.

The repurposed Tibetan bowl worked out great...it really helped to whip up a rich lather in seconds and if you catch the edge with your brush it 'sings' to you:). I held it under the hot tap for a few seconds and it kept the soap warm for the duration of the shave. I just need to see if any patina develops over time now, which could be a good thing or a bad thing...we'll see. (I posted some pics in the August acquisitions thread earlier if interested)

The Extro AS is fantastic and a really nice fit with the soap.

Have a great evening all(y):)

Razor - Feather Artist Club SS Scotch Wood Folding
Blade - Feather Pro (6)
Brush - Semogue Exelsior Bodger
Scuttle - Steve Woodhead
Cream - Bodyshop Maca Root & Aloe
Post - Homemade Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil, Lavender and Glycerin
Balm - Bodyshop Maca Root & Aloe Water Gel

This weeks soap/cream has been Maca Root from Bodyshop. I've had this cream for a while and is one of only 2 creams I own. I have to say this is a top notch product and great value for money. At first the scent wasn't for me but on reflection it's quite pleasant, especially during this warm weather. I'm using up my Feather Pro's and will then use only Schick Prolines as I find them far smoother. The Pro on its 6th use today surprisingly felt a touch tuggy so binned it after using.

Have a great weekend all,
Neil

Enjoyed a day on a boat today and I've got a bright red face to show for it. A nice pre-bedtime shave to finish a great day.

Switched to the R plate which has turned the efficiency up a fair bit. Sporting a DFS+.

Pre shave: warm shower followed by Proraso pre shave cream.
Brush: Omega boar brush
Blade: Gilette Silver Blue #1
Razor : Executive Shaving Outlaw
Soap: Signature Shaving Soap Eboracum
ASB; Proraso sensitive skin balm
The shave was an epiphany ; I had tried a Gilette 7 o clock yellow razor blade and the shave wasn't comfortable so decided to use a new GSB blade; what a change: smooth, comfortable and really close shave thanks to the blade and the excellent shaving soap. I'm getting to know this razor and like it alot.

TFS Bergamotto Neroli AS
Alvarez Gomez Agua Fresca

The first pass was with a Mueller Solingen 4/8 Fine extra hollow supplied shave ready by Billy Fergie. This has been my best straight razor experience so far. It was far less frightening than first using a Feather AC, a Weck or Dovo Shavette with a cabinet blade.

A relaxing sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since i last added the Arko sensitive cream to my shave set ups combined together with Erasmic cream created a superb Frankenlather leaving a wonderful post shave feel to my mature skin.

Over the past few months out of all the razors that i've re-acquainted myself with the baili BD177 has totally amazed me how much of a incredibly good razor it is, each and every shave that I've had with this super-speed clone has been consistently good. Today was no exception.

Another very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Fragrance Free Moisturising Lotion.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy you Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Sun 16 SOTD
Soap OSP BayRum
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice Tuxedo
Razor Gillette Empire Goodwill
Blade Sharp JAWS Platinum 4th
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Clubman BayRum
Another top rated soap. Excellent scent, really love this scent...lasting too. Load from tub and face lather with the nice brush. Soft but enough backbone and really comfortable handle. Lather thickness, creaminess and slickness outstanding!!
Shave with the vintage razor paired with blade was surprisingly nice. Smooth and comfortable but yet sharpish. Didn't feel the blade much. 3+1 multiple passes result in a BBS feel. Icy water rinse feels terrific followed by Thayers then Hyaluronic and VIBR. Rating 9.5/10
Despite the smoothness...going atg on the neck causes some creepers. With that many JAWS circling...bound to be some nibbles...luckily, no big bites...I guessed can trust sharks and JAWS.....after all
This Sharp JAWS Platinum blade has been a revelation..
