Last night my shave carried the theme 'What's in a name?'

View attachment 51606

Brian the razor - Stainless Colonial General
Brian the blade - Schick Proline
Brian the brush - Razorock 400
Brian the soap - Signature Soaps Londinium
Brian the scent - Goutal Eau de Monsieur

Yesterday I dedicated my shave to @BrianH and his Signature Soaps. Not because they are fantastic soaps, as they are, but because of their names. Londinium? Hibernian? Mamucium? What's all this about? They are made in Bolton. What's wrong with giving them good old Northern names? A Scunthorpium, Wigan, Burnley, Grimethorpium. I'll give you A Danum does have a link to Doncaster but I think A Donnyium might have been a better choice.

Selbyium?

Anyway back to Brian the razor. If there is one thing the General can do, that is deliver nothing else but superb shaves one after the other. Last night was no different. Even with a Proline at the end of its usable life it still gave great results and without any nicks, weepers, broken Jaws or anything else. In the ex-blade box went the Proline but it had done a great job and I reckon 15 plus visitations to my face.

The bloody sadly named Londinium did exactly what it says on the tin. Except beyond the description Brian forgot to include 'delivers fucking wonderful shaves'. And it does. There is nothing to criticise about these great soaps, except the names. They are heavenly and they rate highly as a soap with me. I need to purchase some more in the near future but only when Brian gives them a working class feel. ;)

To put a delightful end to the shave what could be better than the charming and sophisticated Goutal Eau De Monsieur. If you've never tried Goutal then you owe to yourself to give them a whirl.

A most wonderful shave and feeling so bloody fantastic I needed to go charm my wife

A good evening to all and have yourselves lovely shaving activities

Or at least better shaving activities than my usual crop of musical finales. And over to Japan and some screaming ladies because why change?

Well, it all started with Eboracum (York) my birth place, had a boss from Danum (Doncaster), have relations in Leeds (Leodus) and then I thought I’ll be accused of being a parochial and typical Yorkshireman so will give the rest of the Isles a chance and use other town and region names. Suppose living in Lancashire means I’d better look to add to fragrance range and give local beauty spot towns a chance. As they say, watch this space.

Soap - Signature Soaps Coria
Brush - YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Razor - R41 / Rockwell Handle
Blade - Voskhod (1)
Post - 4711 Aftershave

Not used my R41 for quite some time so I didn't rush the shave.
It certainly makes me concentrate every time I use it . It paired well with the Rockwell Handle and Voskhod blade.
@BrianH Signature Soap does the business every time - (which is why I chose to use it with my R41 shave)
Finished with 4711 - and it's fleeting scent !
