Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ L'OREAL~ Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap Shower Gel.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Glycerin Soap.

Brush: Omega 10077.

Bowl Lather.

Soap : Proraso ~Eucalyptus & menthol.

Blade: Voshkod T.C.(1)

Razor: Merkur 39C.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade Lime, Lemon+Peppermint Oil & Menthol Crystals Witch Hazel Mixture./ Williams ~Aqua velva A/S Lotion.

Nivea Men ~ Creme.

Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend..I haven't added a voshkod t.c. blade to my blade rotation for a considerably long time, and through my forgetful ignorance forgot how good these russian blades are, paired up with my 39C slant the combo mowed through my stubble with ease resulting in a very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with errors to report.

I have a great fondness for german made razors the 34C, 37C & bigger sibling 39C, all have always performed wonderfully as have their german cousins the Muhle R89 and the very impressive R41(2014) version, all superb razors at a very reasonable price.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Creme.

My face is feeling fresh super smooth, & smelling divine.

Today's shave:

rdt180915.jpg

- Barrister & Mann Nocturne
- Isana Pure Badger
- Tech with MR15 handle and Feather blade
- Isana Free Space aftershave

:)

Imagine a nice autumn day. You're sitting on your porch, leisurely peeling some apples to bake a yummy pie with later, and enjoy the still comfortable warmth of the sun. All around very relaxing. Then suddenly, your neighbour starts burning a pile of shrubbery in his yard, with probably some old plywood and other trash thrown in as well (because you just know he's that kind of guy!).

That's the soap. Fortunately, the smoke smell isn't very intense. But it's there, and I don't really understand why.

Pre: Warm water splash
Brush: Anbbas Boar
Soap: Palmolive Stick
Razor: E-R 1912
Blade: Gem Blue Star CS
Post: Cold water rinse, Tuff Red ASL

After yesterday's frugal Friday shave I decided to stay with the vibe, and have a scrimping Saturday shave.
"How was it?", I hear someone ask, I turned my head 180°, no one there, being possessed isn't all that don'tcha know?
Well, the shave was so good I almost.....

..... got out of the rabbit hole.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Soap: Le Père Lucien: Oud-Santal
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Wholly Kaw: King of Oud Aftershave Toner

another stunning outing with the Weber/Wizamet, although LPL is not a soap that I can push too far, as it can be a little lacking in the protection stakes.. but all's good.

Thursday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: ‘Il Cinghiale' (Zenith EURO/RX)
Soap: Entre Bulles et Moi: RazzBocket
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Chatillon Lux: Bon Vivant Post Shave Toner

even though there was nothing wrong with the shave, I was just too tired to really enjoy it.. just one o' those days! roll on Saturday..

Saturday afternoon

Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscana
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Ever Ready 1912 (England)
Gem SS PTFE
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Alt-Innsbruck EdC
Tom Ford Oud Wood EdP

Perfect. The 1912 is only eclipsed by its mighty cousin, the Streamline. Ever Ready really knew how to build razors, imo. I'm just so glad we can still get the best available blades for them.

SOTD Saturday 15 September 2018

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleaner.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: Karve Plate E.
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharp Yellow (Day 1).
Post: Bart's Balm Lavender, followed by Musgo Real Cologne no 4 Lavender.

A very late shave for me in terms of a Saturday, 14:00. A very relaxed shave, I wanted to try a sharper blade with the Karve E Plate and opted for a 7 O'Clock Yellow.

I was slightly nervous, as I was unsure what to expect from the 7 O'Clock Yellow in the E Plate; the shave felt very good - smooth and efficient, although after the first pass I was not convinced that the Karve + Yellow had removed as much stubble as other shaves with the Karve and the Astra/Silver Blue.

2 passes - WTG and XTG face with WTG and ATG neck. No problems or issues; I felt slightly rough on the face and decided to go for a third pass ATG.

Post shave cold splash skin felt good. However, some mild burn after I applied the Musgo Cologne, slightly unplesant. I expected to see some redness when looking in the mirror, however none to be seen. Left it 5 minutes and applied the Bart's Balm - a lovely end to the shave.

Skin feels good, BBS finish, no tightness or redness. However, there is somthing in the back of my mind, a slight doubt - the shave did not feel as good as it could have been?

All the best, hope everyone has a good weekend.

Chris

Saturday morning shave

De Vergulde Hand
YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Rockwell 6C R4
Personna Platinum (3)
Proraso Green ASL

I was going to add this post this morning after my shave but I got a phone call that completely changed my plans for today. . .
The call was from Paul, my tattooIst -
I had forgotten my appointment.
"I'll be there in 20 minutes" I told him.
I had planned to spend the day doing housework, gardening and aquarium maintenance, and the look on my wife's face was a picture when I explained that I had to leave ! As she doesn't drive she had to get the bus to work - that's me in trouble as you would imagine.
After two and a half hours of having my leg tattooed I'm feeling ok, and closer to my goal of a full body suit tattoo.

And my shave . . ? - just fine. Personna Platinum aren't my favourite blade. Not as smooth as Astra SP, but good.
The soap seemed quite thirsty to get right but delivered.
Finishing with Proraso Green ASL, which for me works wonderfully.

Enjoy your weekend one and all
