SOTD : Saturday 15th September - Friday 21st September 2018.

SOTD Tuesday 18 September 2018

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap followed by Proraso Pre-Shave Cream (White).
Cream: Mugso Lavender.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: Karve Plate C
Blade: Astra SP) Green) Day 1).
Post: OSP Grapefruit and Menthol followed by Clinique Post Shave Balm.

Thus far, I feel that the Karve C Plate is the one for me. Skin feels smoother, softer and less stressed after a shave compared to the E plate; I'm guessing that the E plate for me would work better with a few days growth. The E plate is good - its just for me the C Plate is better.

The C plate feels perfect for a steady, incremental shave.

@Digimonkey loved your post; a LOL moment on the bus this morning; must try a malt and shave of an evening

All the best,

Chris

The Game Changer .68 works very well for me and hits the sweet spot as a daily shaver; it is well judged. I would concur with others that it is similar to a Weber PH for aggression, which is a favourite of mine. Threading on handle though is sloppy and disappoints. I will swap out for a Weber Bulldog which fits more snugly. I have the .84 head on route but I suspect it may be superfluous.

Heno de Pravia Glycerine Soap
Proraso Sandalwood Preshave Cream
Proraso Sandalwood Soap
Omega 10051 Brush
Daune Full DE Shavette with a UK Wilkinson Sword Blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Aloe Vera Gel
Proraso Sandalwood AS

Today was 'The Italian Job' in preparation for the delivery of my Razorine which is due to be delivered today. It was strangely intuitive in use.......a bit like using a normal DE except with the handle in a strange place. I didn't enjoy the drag of the plastic much.....but I hope the brass of the Razorine will remedy that issue!
All in all it was a very good shave with three passes....just short of BBS:)

Today's SOTD:

Epsilon Horse Hair Fan
Red Tip Rocket
Cella & C E Bigelow Uber Lather
E-shave White Tea Pre-Shave Oil
T&H 1805 AS Balm
Lord Super Stainless Classic Blades

I'm feeling unwell today so opted for a simple, back to basics combination. I've never combined Cella with Proraso (C E Bigelow) before and was impressed with the results.

I'm also really liking these blades. They feel as smooth as a Polsilver and are significantly cheaper. They've become the real stand out blade in the Lord line for me. [emoji846]

Not all shaves can be great. I failed to load enough soap on the admittedly large badger knot, so the lather was rather thin on the second pass. The Progress remains one of my favourite razors, but I'm not so sure about the blade, it seemed a little dull.

SOTD

Change of razor today last ten shaves have been with supply v2 using all three plates although for me plate 2 gave me best shave.
Today's razor had been shelved for a while due to the men's others I've bought. I'd forgotten what a smooth shave this gave me. The soap and balm great and available form the grooms room Dundee only.

Usual prep shower and new to my pre shave routine the addition of Poraso green tea pre shave great scent
Brush 404 mixed boar and badger
Soap Wickham 1912 Buddha Wood
Bowel Giles coffee and cream
Razor Timor 1350
Blade Treat 1st use
Alum and cold water rinse
Balm Buddha wood

Ever Ready Streamline - cased

Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion

After a superb quality Shave yesterday with the Streamline I just had to use it again. Using a fairly new to me soap, though the lather was effective in assisting another great Shave I found the scent rather nondescript. I find that the weight of the Streamline works for me and I can easily use it as a Daily Shaver, whereas I would not say the same for the lighter ER 1912 to 1924 which do also provide good Shaves.
