Second shave with the Carbon Cx on loan from @Optometrist

No problems with the handle this time around. It felt very comfortable throughout the shave.

I used a Polsilver for my first shave but wanted to try a different blade and went for the Gillette Platinum. The shave was a little tuggy in places but I hadn't shaved since Sunday afternoon so maybe I was asking a bit much from the razor? I also needed a number of passes ATG on my neck to get the finish I like. So it just goes to show how much influence blade choice has over the shave. The finished results were great though.

Thanks to David for the loan of this beautiful razor.

Cheers
Rob

MWF, V2,YME.JPG

After yesterdays wonderfully close shave with the GC-OC, i knew today i could get by with 2 passes.
A great bowl lather today with the Yaqi and MWF, easily enough for 3 passes if required.
So The V2 with #3 plate and a new blade fitted i started the no pressure shave, feeling really comfortable, although very efficient the 1st careful pass went without issue, and what a clean up job it did.
I completed a mixed pass XTG & ATG and had to be mindful, the razor did feel as if it could bite at any time. No buffing required.
The Alum block lit up my neck and it did sting for a bit, a bit too close for my liking even if BBS was achieved in 2 passes.
The post shave started to calm it pretty quickly from the cold water splash, i reached for the Barts Balm face medic and pretty soon all was OK,
Until, that is, the aftershave, whoop, off it went again, i have not had that for a while, it calmed quickly, thankfully.
I am not sure i could use the #3 plate as a daily driver, so i decided for the next run out its back to #2 plate, i know, i know, i can hear you all shouting that Mondays shave result was down to the old blade, my head has not been on right this week. so looking forward to trying that on Friday.
Most definitely BBS, Cue ball smooth & smelling good. Not too sure about the face feel yet? hopefully i get no irritation later in the day and the post shave routine works.
Enjoy your day All.

First ever use of a Phoenix and Beau product and all I can say is wow. Scent is unmistakably Brut and as soon as I whipped up a lather I could see a beautiful sheen coating the soap. You don't need a lot of product for 3 passes and I found it quite a thirsty soap. Had 3 pass BBS with minimal touch ups. Have to say the Feather AS-D2 is super smooth. Finished off with a nod to Our Enry.
