A nice shave for a Sunday. Took my time (to the consternation of those needing the bathroom—for a while I was Mr Unpopular), and had a nice BBS shave. Have a good end to the weekend, and a good week as well.

Some may say that setting about a full week growth with a blade on its twentieth outing must be an act of folly - not so with the vintage Spoilers - the most remarkable blades I have used - it went through my beard like a well struck Aussie cover drive through the English outfield. ( joke - sorry - couldn't resist.) The usual two passes for a great shave. I don't know why I don't use the Speick more often - I find it excellent - super slick. Enjoy your shaves and the week ahead - yours all - I.

Oh - in my local Tesco they have the entire Nivea Men range at half price - might be the case in your locality if you use such things - got some backup balm and aftershave for buttons.
 
And for this evening my most welcome of shaves carried the theme 'The return of the unpronounceables'

After most of the week has been spent shaving with the bedazzling brass General I thought this evening I might just use its nonidenticalidentical twin brother the stainless version so as to draw some kind of comparison. So I did. And what were the results? They are both fanfuckingtastic, both more than capable of delivering the closest of shaves in the most smoothest of manners and both easy to pronounce. Unlike the aftershave splash which I am sure looks easy but when I spoke to ESC sounded naff all like it.

In use I think the brass may offer a slightly smoother approach but it really would be splitting hairs.....literally. If I was to have any particular preference I would probably go with the brass based simply on the fact......it is shiny. By far my best shaving purchase of this past year and I really do ask myself if their new V2 will improve things that much? I hope to find out later in the year when my 'must have' becomes 'I do have'.

In general the General is one Hell of a shaving tool and I am so proud to have both in the armoury. RMD, Razors of Mass Debristleation. It is nice when the biggest thing to decide is 'Shiny or not shiny?'.

The Penhaligon's Bayolea certainly gave itself a good press in terms of being a very capable shaving medium. The scent is on the weak side, but nice and fresh which is all one could ask for. And the wooden bowl is very nice. With the Cadman in the driving seat a real sea of quality lather. These Tuxedo knots are absolutely superb at picking up the soap and making them perform to their best.

Finally the aftershave splash. I must give it to Brian and his team at ESC in creating a real winner here. I do like my old school scents with that old fashion aroma and what I think a barber shop should smell like. In the case of their Doune Fon Choill ESC have created exactly that but with a modern fresh and vibrant slant to the end product. A really super splash and recommended from this end.

All together a smashing shave and feeling smoother than a jelly bean in a can of oil. Throw in the Doune Fon Choill and this evening's shave was a shave made in heaven. Or Hell, as at the end of the day home is where the sink is.

With a blade on its 7th outing this Razor in still performing well. I have tough beard yet the Razor/ Blade combo allows me clear it away with ease
without the slightest hint of trouble. This could probably be the best AC/ SE Razor that I have used.
