SOTD: Saturday 14th July - Friday 20th July 2018.

Thursday 19th July

Pears Glycerine Soap
Vitos Pre Shave Cream
Valobra Shaving Stick
Yaqi 24mm Synthetic Brush
Yaqi 'Charcoal' razor with a Treet Silver Carbon Steel Blade
Alum Block, Rinse, and Thayers Original Witch Hazel
Aloe Vera Gel
Nivea 2 Phase AS
Golden Sands PO

This has turned into a 'Shaving Stick' week, and today it was Valobra. The brush was a little disappointing as it was one of the original Yaqi brushes with the large glue bump issue.......a prime candidate for a re-knot I think.
Three passes for a Billiard Ball finish:)

Thursday

Proraso M&E pre shave
Proraso M&E soap
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Gillette Aristocrat 1948
Gillette Rubie #2
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Proraso M&E after shave

I got this Ambassador off the ‘bay a year or so ago. Erroneously described as a Fatboy, it cost about £10 (one end cap missing). I have to say, it really is an efficient little razor; more so than similar Gillettes of that era, or just after - the Red Tip, for instance.

An excellent day to go for the Proraso trio. My face is beautifully smooth and cool.

I got the Karve razor through the BST here, thanks again @Imunro69
In my opinion it is a great preformer and a very good looking brass razor with its significant head design and the classy, straight designed handle. In addition to aesthetics, it comes with a very attractive price tag with its craftsmanship in mind, downside is import fees as it comes from overseas. I get good results with my regular three pass routine each time I grab this razor. I got the 3,5” handle with a C plate. For me this is the perfect handle lenght. The C plate is efficient and relative mild with most blades I have in rotation. Anyway, I keep me eyes open to add a more aggressive baseplate to the arsenal. Perhaps a D or E. Lately Karve introduced E and F plates witch receive a lot of positive response in other forums.
Kind Regards
Marco

Thanks for the reply; I am tempted to save up for a Karve, it looks exceptional. I love the Hone 15 and another brass razor would be good to have.

That said the Blackland Dart looks good also :)

All the best, C

Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Personna
Pre: Shower including Nivea Face Wash Sensitive
Soap: Executive Shaving Natural cream
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Post: Nivea Post Shave Balm Sensitive

My 3rd DE shave since converting. Still on my first blade.
Just simply....wow.
Took the time to figure out my stubble growth pattern, as recommended by members.
3 passes with a final touch up and I'm BBS.
A little irritation on the lower neck line which was soothed by the Nivea balm, but It's so much more enjoyable than cartridge shaving.
The Nivea products have been lying in my bathroom cupboard for a long time, but now I actually know how to use them properly!
Thanks to everyone for the advice so far.
Now to start experimenting!

And spending :)
