A super shave with the kind of accoutrements that should guarantee a good experience. The Merkur razor is, for me, their most comfortable and efficient razor by far. The Cadman brush is also a gem.

14 June 2020 – lunchtime = Stirling time!

After my first long bike ride in three months – 25 miles. Braveheart on MÜHLE pole – a very good close shave. Splashed out on the matching Stirling ASB but not quite convinced – the aroma is slightly different from the soap. Not really an issue. A very small amount of it is sufficient for the whole face. Will last for ages ,just like the soap.

Prep: Shower & Nuage Shave Oil
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow 26mm
Razor: Braveheart head on MÜHLE handle
Blade: Vintage Gillette Platinum-Plus
Soap: Stirling Coconut & Lime
After: Cold Water splash - Ajanta Alum – Stirling Coconut & Lime ASB

Good afternoon

I always get a good shave with Signature Soaps. First outing for my new RazoRock Russ and it performed brilliantly. A good pairing.

The second shave with the S2 (along with the smoothed out Feather) has given me an easy DFS in 2.5 passes. No feedback from the alum. I'm looking forward to the next shave with this.

SOTD 214 June 2020

Pre-shave: Shower, followed by cold water splash.
Soap: The Oxford Soap Co - Bergamont shaving soap.
Brush: Muhle Silvertip Fiber.
Razor: Rockewell 6S (no. 4).
Blade: Treet Carbon Steel (Day 1).
Post: Cold water splash, followed by Floid Aftershave Splash - Vigoroso, and Barts Balm - Grapefruit and Pink Pepper.
EDC: Trumper's Havana.

Wow; great shave - I am enjoying shaving with Treet blades; the platinumn Treet's being my first experience - I have ordered some pucks of the Carbon Steel and the Dura sharp. Decided to shave with the Carbon steel this morning. Its been a while since I shaved with the Rockwell 6S - a smooth and efficient razor, my sixth sense kicked in - there was something in the back of my mind saying pair the Treet Carbon with the Rockwell :)

Result - a 2 pass DFS + with no issues to report; a very smooth, enjoyable shave - the Floid was cooling and soothing - my skin soacked up the Barts Balm.

Some 9 hours after the shave, my skin feels great - I am going to try shaving with the Rockwell for a few weeks, going through a range of blades - it seems to be a good razor for summer shaving, when your skin perhaps needs less stress, to balance out the sun's rays?

I hope everyone is safe and well and as good as can be in the circumstances.

All the best,

Chris

SOTD 14th June
Soap - Reef Point samples (Admiralty, Dragon's Blood and A.N.Other?)
Brush - Razorock 24mm synth
Razor - FrankenStar (Star model 100 top cap and base plate and Edwin Jagger handle)
Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword #4
Post - Bayliss and Harding Black Pepper & Ginseng.

Great 3 pass shave in work. FrankenStar is a joy to use after the bike ride into work. Mild yet efficient and the blade works superbly with it. Reef Point soap was really slick and together with the brush produced plenty of lather. B&H post shave finished it off nicely.
Stay safe people and enjoy your Shaves.

A shave - a day - which day? - who knows?

prep - facial scrub
razor - Gillette Slim (4)
blade - Lodz Polsilver (twirl and dance pole dance academy - 5)
brush - AP Shave synth
soap - Salter's lavender - tallow
post - cold water - still no witch hazel
a/s - Quorum
balm - Weleda
scent - Homme de Caron edt.

All good - taking off a four day growth - the lacuna due to having to take weapons grade antibiotics and horse pills last week - which floored me - my skin went mental - I gave it a few days to calm down. This is not a good time and place to have dental problems. The Salter soap is - in my opinion - under valued - top notch - a bit like MWF - but without the fussiness - and it smells of lavender. What's not to like? The brush is the only synthetic knot I enjoy using - although I may have to challenge my preconceptions - another incoming thanks to @Boycie83 - we'll see how it goes. Take care - one and all - we are not out the woods yet - yours - I.
