A Red Day and Trial.
After using the Chinese AC blade earlier in the week in the Feather clone I decided to try it in the ever reliable and smooth RR Hawk, just to see what it was like in a Razor.
Also, new up and 1st time use is my Proraso Red soap bowl, purchased for £3.60 for 150ml with a discount code and the Proraso Red A/S Splash.
The Omega gets another chance at lathering as I really want to find a soap it works with.
Following my normal pre shave routine I managed to pick up plenty of soap on the soft brush, this then mixed up a great lather in the bowl, it took a little longer than normal, however, what a lather it is and plenty of it. Its good stuff this Proraso.
On the chin it went and up stepped the Silver Hawk loaded with the Chinese AC, it was quite smooth for the WTG pass, no issues to report, the lather giving a nice cushion, the XTG pass felt less smooth although not tugging I knew it was cutting, The ATG pass struggled a bit. Its not the sharpest blade or the smoothest but it did get the job done. I have decided that 3 shaves is enough for this one, considering they were free with the clone its not bad.
Pre shave as normal using the Proraso post shave and Aftershave, I could not help but give my face a rub with the Bart's Sandalwood A/S lotion.
I noticed a few small bumps on my left cheek, a bit like under the skin spots, I have not seen that before and will keep an eye on it.
So a nice run out for the Hawk, I have found a soap that the Omega can work with and I really like it.
Not quite BBS but a very acceptable finish, feeling & smelling good due to the Proraso Red Splash.
The Clone will get a run out with a better blade to see if it helps my shave.
Have a great weekend All

19/7/19

Brush - Omega 11819
Soap - Vitos Red & Green
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Personna Lab Blue (2)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Superdrug Sierra Breeze

My Omega 11819 continued to shed today, lost another 4-5 bristles. As much as I like Omega boars their quality control of the ones I have bought anyway have been very hit and miss. Nonetheless, it seemed to create a pretty decent lather with my Vitos hybrid, enough lather for 4 passes probably loaded the brush a bit too much. The second with the PLB still had a fair amount of roughness as it did for the shave before and managed to reopen a weeper from yesterday's shave. Even if the blade was a little on the rough side of things, the shave itself seemed to be very close.

Anyway chaps, have a good Friday. The week is almost over....

The more I use it, the more I like the Timeless razor, especially with a great soap like the Penhaligon's.

A lovely three pass shave for a DFS+ result on a stormy Perth evening.

Well the battle of the slants continues and today I wanted to see just how the Merkur 37C would do against the iKon X3. The X3 provided two very smooth shaves right out the gate and was quite impressive. Loaded up with the same Super-Max Blue Diamond as the X3 and off we went.

Today's soap of the day was Fine Italian Citrus and man do I love this soap. Great performer and the scent is wonderful. It lasts forever and I don't believe there has ever been a time when it didn't just lather bomb at load up. Synthetic, Badger or Boar have no issues with this soap. Today's brush Wild West Brushworks - “Elway” with a 26mm Tuxedo knot. Pics don't do it justice.

Wonderful two pass shave today and as with the X3 it was WTG and ATG. Smooth but not quite as smooth as the X3. Next up will be the Sledgehammer 39C.

It's Friday! The week draws to a close and my your BBQs be hot and your Brews ice cold! Happy shaves all!

L'Occitane Cade soap

Feather Pro ( 5 )
Pitralon Polar A/S lotion

Shaving with a Feather Blade rather than my favoured Schick.Went very well apart from weeper caused by a non Shave move, must not let concentration lapse.

Is that an old Wilkinson Sword soap tub you've used for the L'Occitane cake?

Friday 19th July 2019 PM

Nuage for Men Shave Oil
Omega 49 Pure Bristle
TOBS Eton College cream
Muhle R41 / Gillette 7 O'clock Green Super Stainless
Thayers Cucumber / Boots Freshwood aftershave / Boots Freshwood balm
CopyCat TV EdT

The R41 is too aggressive for me with a days growth. It can remove 3 days plus with ease so I think I'll only bring it out when the big guns are needed.

Otherwise a good shave. The TOBS Eton College is a reasonable cream but it's not up there with my best. It may be moved on soon.

The Boots Freshwood is fine for a midweek shave. It does a job but nothing mind blowing.

Decided to top it all off with CopyCat's TV which is a Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille copy. It's lovely and now joins the Executive and Intense Oud in my collection.

Have a great evening folks!
