SOTD : Saturday 12th October - Friday 18th October 2019.

Hi @Missoni. I have retained an AS-D2 in my den for four years now, and can certainly appreciate your comments above. As you mention, the angle is not the easiest to find, and when I return to the razor, my first few shaves can result in a wee bit of stubble remaining. Once I'm back in the groove, I find it a terrific razor. In particular, despite its mild reputation, I find that it effortlessly scythes through a 5 day growth when called upon.
I often use this razor if I have an important event or meeting to attend, as I have confidence that I will get an irritation and blemish free shave.

That is reassuring to hear - thank you. I recall reading a post from one forum member on DFS I think, that he had purchased the razor on four separate occasions, used each one fifty times and could not get the razor to shave - this post made my expectations low. I have now used the razor three times; Strangely, I can get a close, smooth shave on my head with it, but not yet over all of my face and neck. But that is ok, because I know it can shave close, I just need to get my technique nailed down. I will certainly give it a fair shot. I admire the balance of the razor, the low profile head, the precision; it really does feel lighter than it's actual weight - how do they do that?. I remain positive and hopeful.

It was definitely my poor lather that hindered the shave performance yesterday.
A great shave today with the General and a 9 shave Feather PB, it's still very smooth, although, it has not had the normal amount of passes per shave as both razors have worked really well giving good longevity.
The Lather today was just wonderful, i really like Bay Rum and the Stirling soap has plenty of scent to it.
2 Passes for a BBS & comfortable finish, i have been really spoiled his week from the performance of both.

So - - Who won??

So,
My beard type is medium<, at least that's the best razors i get on with, i definitely do not have a heavy beard.
Both razors work really well for me using both Kai Captain and Feather PB blades. I also do not have sensitive skin, on the contrary, i believe my skin is about as sensitive as a Blacksmiths Apron.

I am very happy i own these 2 excellent razors and can recommend both, YMMV of course.
The choice is yours.
have a great day All

A back to back Shave with The TNNSER, and I managed a lighter touch today.A lot of blade feel during initial stubble removal then smoothed out a lot.An excellent close all round finish, with the Razor working really well around the upper lip and chin. This ultra light creation is a revealation, and puts modern SE/Gem like the Sabre L1 and ATT SE-G to shame.

I know it's Fall but the sun is shining here and so I wanted something with a Citrus kick to it so Stirling Satsuma it is! Fresh citrusy goodness with a bit of spice in there. Another “jam-the-beak-in-tub” worthy scent!

Today's razor, the mighty Merkur 37C loaded up with a Voskhod. As of late most slant shaves have been with the iKon X3 which has become my favourite among slants! Not today. Great razor and blade combo for me.

Through a lovely two pass DFS/BBS and topped it all off with Acqua di Parma Colonia! On to the weekend we go!
