Swift shave this morning with the Feather razor producing a clean result in a single pass. Astonishing for a razor with such a mild reputation.

Mon 14th Jan

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
EJ Cooling Menthol cream
Schick N3
Schick Twin - Japan [ 9 ]
Alcolado Glacial A/S Splash

It is not often that I am disappointed with a Shave, not a disaster but not as good as expected. Normally the N3/Twin Blade delivers the smoothest of Shaves with a great finish. Today, the Razor/Blade combo was tugging when working around the chin and did not feel at all good.
I was using this cream for the first time, but rather think it is a blade problem as normally am good for 15 or so Shaves. Had a much better Shave experience yesterday with the C1,and that is a Razor which requires careful handling. Will try out another Twin Blade Shave tomorrow, using the "O" Clone.

Another recent acquisition used with Reef Point Soap's Calming Spice. It has a distinctive appearance being a dark brown soap and the scent is almost coffee like. Almost cappuccino like. It took a bit of work to get a lather going though I do think it's been sat unused for a while. Once the water has worked it way into the soap it explodes. A good lather which painted on nicely.

A 3 pass shave with a few pickups and I had reached BBS. The lather provided a nice cushion and glide, but oddly during my 2nd and 3rd passes I could feel a very light tingle on my skin immediately after reapplying. It wasn't a burn, more like the start of a burn....if that makes sense.

With the slight irritation I expected a good burn when I slapped on the Floid aftershave but there was next to nothing. Likewise, Bart's balm had no reaction, just a nice smooth and well nourished feel.

I was intending to have a chill out shave, but half way through I got called out to work, hence I added the Floid Vigoroso....the scent certainly wakens the senses.

An overall DFS.

Have a great night folks.
+ 1 on the Floid Vigoroso.... One of my all time favourite aftershave splashes..Superb stuff!..;)

And for today my shave was themed 'Class'

View attachment 40652

Upper class - Colonial General
Middle class - Kai Captain
Working class - Razorock Plissoft 24mm
Class act - L'Occitane Cade cream
Top of the class - L'Occitane Cade aftershave
Finishing class - Prada Luna Rossa carbon

After three days at work with no shave in sight this evening brought a very welcome and overdue rendezvous with a razor. On this occasion the reach for being the Colonial General as I do find it deals with a few days growth in a more effective manner than my DE's.

I don't think a shave could have been delivered any better than this. Everything about it just felt wonderful and the Prada Carbon just put that end of the day edge to it all.

A Class shave and a face as smooth as a very smooth thing. Brilliant and happy.
That background photograph looks suspiciously like a shaved chimp from Manchester with a head like a f*cking orange!

Prep: Wash with Nivea Sensitive
Pre: Proraso Sensitive Pre-shave
Brush: Omega 10019 Pure Bristle
Soap: Lea Original stick
Razor: Gillette '67 Tech
Blade: Voskhod (3 and last - starting to drag a little)
Post: Cold Water rinse / Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel
ASL: Duru Lemon
ASB: Barts Lime

Cracking lather from the Lea stick and the budget Omega brush. The blade has gone south pretty quickly which is a bit of a shame but still gave a DFS on 3 passes with pick ups under the chin.

Have a good evening.

Cheers
Steve
