Theme? Theme? Theme? What pile of rubbish can I dream up for this shave? Thinking thinking thinking
And the theme shall be 'Themeless'

Polish_20200714_201705156.jpg

Does that make me a razor? - Colonial General V2
A bloody what? - Feather Super Professional
Where is the bus? - Yaqi Dandelion
Is that who I think it is? - Murdock Avalon cream
And what has she got do with it? - Mrs Satanfriendly's home brewed moisturiser flavoured with Alvarez Gomez Barbaria

And who the bloody hell do you think you are looking at?

Are you talking to me you impertinent little shit?

A new day and a new/old cream. I ran my last jar of Murdock's Avalon in to the ground quite some years back and shed a tear. Yes, yes, even Satan can have a cry. After tracking a replacement for a number of years I finally found this one and in anticipation of having to cry once again I left it boxed and unopened for the past three or four. Pathetic Mr C. To me it is an Holy Grail of shaving products (one of many).

So today I decided 'be a man', opened the box, hesitated and then thought 'sod it'. And glad I did. This really is at the top of the tree in the world of soaps and creams. It lathers magnificently. It has wonderful lubricating properties. A little goes a long long way and it has a scent which apart from being super smashing it actually lasts the distance. The only issue I have is why Murdock's ever stopped making this product. I guess I must try their present offering one day and at the same time buy the Avalon Cologne. Contains mallow which I presume are not the small white sticky sweets one toasts on a bonfire, places in ones mouth and causes undue pain and oral blisters. How I miss my sadistic Scouting days.

'Today we are going to live off the land. We are going to track, snare and cook the game we catch. Live off the land'

The only thing we managed to track and ensnare was an old cheese sandwich and an ice cream cone. Cooking them was another challenge altogether, but we did manage to burn our mouths on the marsh-mallows which didn't take too much to track. They were in Roger's rucksack.

So armed with a bowl full of delectable lather the next plan was attack, attack, attack. And the V2 duly did. What a damn razor and I am so glad to have it back with its dad. I don't know of any sharper SE blade than the Super Professional but used in the new General it becomes totally at home in a happy place and the razor just does an awfully efficient job. Three full passes to shaving heaven and heavenly bliss. Everything delivered free of non-planned events. No nicks, no weepers and no irritation other than this write up.

No scent today as Mrs SF's delightful moisturiser has more Alvarez Barbaria than I care to think of in it. Perfection and shaving happiness

It's Oriental ladies time

Alternatively have some of this. And have great days while at it

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Cream - Sweyn Forkbeard - Tobacco and Vanilla
Brush - ESC Big Jock Badger
Razor - Merkur 34G
Blade - Wilkinson (7)
Post - Alum followed by some moisturiser with SPF

A slightly interrupted shave this morning, followed by a rush to finish quickly. Yet a nice comfortable two - three pass shave. I'd purchase this brush mainly to use with soaps, which is does really well. It works great with creams but seems to take longer, possibly due to the size of this compared to my usual brushes.

Brush - Omega 10075
Soap - Signature Soaps A Capra (Unscented Goats Milk)
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Lancet Super Platinum (8)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Signature Soaps Danum Patchouli Splash

The mailman brought me a few items this morning courtesy of the ever generous @BrianH who included a chunk of dog shampoo (to clean brushes), a sample bottle of his Patchouli splash with my order of A Capra soap and I used both for today's shave.

The A Capra's scent is quite an earthy one, and I went about lathering the soap like I do for other SS soaps by taking out a small amount of soap and pressing it to a lid, then loading it to the brush then building the lather on my face and for today's shave after putting the soap on my face it was clear I didn't put enough soap to begin with but still had a enough of a lather for a pass and a bit of a clean up, which was fine even if was a little on the thinner side of things.
The lather produced good slickness for the blade as well in the shave, I'd noticed this particular blade reacted a little unfavourably with certain lathers but worked really well with this one. I didn't have a huge amount of lather, enough for a pass and a half, but it was enough to get the job done.
The post shave feel of this soap is exceptional, my face felt great at the shave, no need for a balm in the slightest bit. I'm looking forward to getting to know this soap better with time.

Onto the splash, the Danum Patchouli splash on the nose smells pretty much of Patchouli! Feels good on the skin though.

And then I followed on to using my 3rd SS product for the day, the dog shampoo to clean my brush. Gave the brush a swirl on the solid shampoo and it's definitely made my brush a bit more supple. I used it on my Yaqi Plissoft which had a terrible funk to it when it picked up some unsavoury scents when I used it on some Arko that had become rancid, and I cannot even begin to describe how bad that brush smelt, but the dog shampoo bar worked wonders. I'll definitely use it for my other brushes and even though I do not own any badgers, I imagine it'd be great for defunking them and for new boars.

Nice to be back on with the Vector, i think the blade has 1 more shave in it. I don't usually go over 10, but i am curious.
Stay Safe and enjoy your day All.

I haven't heard of that. I'm currently giving since salicylic acid and sulphur soap a go (which effing stinks!).
Tend Skin is quite expensive (£23 for 118ml bottle) but you only use a little dabbed on with cotton wool or bud, lasts ages and I've used it for multiple purposes...not just in-grown hairs. I had a small burn on my face from hot fat from a frying pan and it was perfect to clear that up.

SOTD 15/7/20 and edging closer to a full clean shaven look

Really enjoyed using this soap. Received straight from the postman and put into action. I'm sure the majority of you have tried this before but being new to wet shaving, this was like nothing I've experienced before (in a good way).

I knew I'd like methol type soaps and this was great. Certainly woke me up and left a tingly/cooling feeling. I imagine it'd be great on a summers evening if the sun ever decided to appear!

Razor is the Rockwell 6c with a new Astra SP blade and I used duru lemon a/s splash after which paired well.

Happy shaving all.

Wed 15 SOTD
Cream TOBS
Bowl Ceramic
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice 2 Band Badger
Razor RR Game Changer.84 SB w BarberPole
Blade Tatra Platinum 2nd
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Reuzel Wood & Spice
Excellent lather!! Good strong scent, thick creamy and slick. Not my fav scent initially but now a convert!
Today's razor pairing with this blade is perfect! One of my best shave! Buttery smooth, very comfortable and sharp. Somehow with this pairing...didn't feel the blade at all. 3 multiple pass + buffing results in a super close shave. Didn't feel I could cut myself and cause any weepers type of shave....that smooth! Icy water rinse followed by Thayers left a cooling sensation then Hyaluronic softens and Reuzel soothed nicely. All gears aligned perfectly for a rare 10/10!

Side note: Somehow the GC.84 SB shave better with the BarberPole handle. I am glad for the Czech Blade PIF and tried this blade. Of course had 100 delivered promptly!
