SOTD : Saturday 11th July - Friday 17th July 2020

First...happy birthday to @udrako and all others whose birthdays I might have missed or have secret ones!(y)

Second...this evenings shave was my first ever with a Gillette Tech...
  • Pre-shave wash with Ach Brito Glyce soap
  • Phoenix & Beau Denali shaving soap
  • Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Peregrino 24mm Grey Roswell synthetic
  • Gillette 1955-59 Ball-end Tech razor with a new Gillette Nacet blade
  • Post-shave alum + cold water rinse
  • Le Pere Lucien Traditionnel AS
(I swapped the Tech's aluminium handle for a Razorock Titanium)

Well, the razor was everything that so many people have said it would be...very smooth and comfortable two-pass shave with a little touching up around the jaw. As I'd hoped, the thinner profile allowed me to do a much better job of getting to those awkward whiskers under my nose. It's definitely going to be in my primary rotation along with my EJ89 and my Merkurs (34C and 34G).

Also, the brush is new... it is immense and incredibly comfortable...I found myself just standing there swirling the soap around on my face for far longer than I usually do (maybe an hour or two?). Holds enough lather for many many passes and has plenty of backbone so it doesn't slop the soap around the bathroom but paints it where you need it.

The final new item was the Le Pere Lucien Traditionnel AS. I've used it once and it's gone straight into my handful of favourite AS splashes.

I'm really made up with this evening's shave and I want to thank all those in TSR for their advice and comments about the Tech(y):giggle:;)

Happy shaving and a good evening and weekend to all(y)

Stay safe and enjoy your day All

That is one gorgeous looking brush. I've had my eye on that brush a few times, haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I was wondering how the knot in it, compares to a Tuxedo knot?

It's been some time since I have had a Tuxedo knot. I find the G4 knot to be really soft to the touch and very good at lathering all kind of croaps/soaps. I don't think you would be disappointed bying one.

SOTD 11th July 2020

Razor - Feather AS-D1
Blade - Feather Hi Stainless
Soap - Signature Soaps -Capra - unfragranced /Goats Milk
Brush - Alpha Outlaw V2 Ti Silvertip
Post - Signature Soaps -Aftershave Splash - Hybernia
Frag - Guerlain Jicky edp

A great smooth and close shave using the AS-D1 fitted with a Feather blade, no doubt helped along by the wonderful lather that I managed with ease to get from the Signature Soaps Capra Goats milk soap.
The more I use this soap the higher up my list of favourite soaps it goes, the post shave skin feel is wonderful, today I didn't put the aftershave splash on for a full hour because my skin was feeling great, well done @BrianH , you've really pulled it out of the bag with this one! :)

Untill the next time, enjoy your weekend but let's be safe! :)

Paul.
Thank you. Regards Brian
