SOTD : Saturday 11th July - Friday 17th July 2020

11/7/20

Brush - Omega 10075
Soap - Palmolive Stick
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Lancet Super Platinum (4)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling Kick
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

How's everyone this Saturday? Even though I've been drinking more regularly since the lockdown started (I imagine others are too!) but until yesterday I'd not drunk enough to have a hangover, so for today it was a rare hungover shave and scraping one's face with a sharp blade when you're not completely present is something I am a little wary of doing. So I placed my trust in the Lancet Super Platinum in a Fat Handle Tech, and I made it though 2.5 passes without spilling any blood, which in my books is a success.
A few shaves with this blade and I've got to know the blade a bit, it's a very sharp blade but a little prickly, not the smoothest blade but produces a very close shave.

Anyway gents, have a good weekend.

I've been drinking less. Other factors have determined that for me though.

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Soap - PalmOlive Shave stick
Brush - New Forest
Razor - Merkur 34G
Blade - Wilkinson (4)
Post - Alum followed by some moisturiser with SPF

I'd nicked myself the previous two shaves and decided to shave on the side of caution around those areas this morning. Two almost complete passes, plus a third on my cheeks. Other than a rough area just below my nose, a comfortable shave.

I love the Captains Choice heavyweight copper bowl, I've been tying to put it to the back of my mind but this is the second day in a row where I've seen one, I must resist !
I hope you wife is feeling more comfortable today, have a good weekend :) P.
I was the same Paul, I enquired and Scott had just taken a new delivery as it's been out of stock for a while. I put it down to fate.
I had also been putting off buying some of @BrianH 's sig.soap, so also put an order in for some travel sizes while I was at it, you know, to go with the 40 odd soaps I already have!
I love the bowl, it fits nicely in the hand and is just the right size - no brush knocking.
Cant wait to try some new scents from Signature.
Now then, do I really need a Henckels, to go with my vintage collection??

Prep- splosh of soft Scottish water
Razor- Merkur Futur (just for a change)
Brush- Trafalgar T3 (favourite brush ever)
Blade- GSB (1)
Soap- Kent soap sample (is it really the fat?)
Post- Cold water
A/S- Epsilon Mediterranean blue.
Nivea balm

Tried my sample of Kent today to see if it really is MWF. Not 100% convinced. It lathered too easily and seemed to lack the slickness of the fat. Gave a nice 3 pass shave however. GSB was buttery smooth as always. The Futur is fast becoming my go to daily driver. I'm lucky enough to have a face like old shoe leather so doesn't give me the issues some have with it. Another enjoyable effortless bbs today.

Sat 11 SOTD
Soap PAA Solstice
Bowl Turkish Copper
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice 2 Band Badger
Razor RR Game Changer.84 SB w SK handle
Blade Wizamet Super Iridium 1st
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Reuzel Wood & Spice
Lather today was ok but not slick enough. Scent very nice though.
Shave with razor paired with famous blade 1st use was comfortable and smooth. Due to quality of lather can feel each stroke kinda harsh but the razor/blade combo was forgiving. 3 multiple passes and noticed 1 tiny weeper & creeper. Somehow always suffers weepers when using the super knurl handle.
Post & Aftershave feel was very good because of excellent icy water rinse followed by Special Thayers then Hyaluronic and Reuzel. No irritation & felt very smooth and soft. 9/10 today

Simple and fast this evening after a hot shower...

Lea Mentolada soap, whipped to a fast and frothy lather and painted on with my Yaqi Dandelion 24mm Cashmere synthetic, scraped off again with my EJ89, Gillette Nacet and Timeless Titanium combo, then soothed with a splash from a new bottle of Aqua Velva.

How to follow that? I hear you all asking...well for me it was putting on my smoking jacket, lighting a Montecristo Purito, and sipping from a rather nice XO brandy from Lidl. Then I went back indoors and decided I really should wear more than just a smoking jacket after my showero_O

Have a very comfortable evening all(y)
