Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the second saturday of 2020.

I've practically used the same set up i used last saturday, the only difference ommiting the Gillette Guard SE cartridge razor, returning back to my de razor & blade combo.

Out of all the proraso soaps i have i personally find the white has the best slickness,it also has the most unique clean fresh smell it's funny how scent is truly a subjective YMMV thing. It's also been a while since i last added the assertive Muhle R41 to my razor rotation, which has a reputation of been overly aggressive and a beast to master.

Personally i cannot fault this razor, aggressive is the wrong word to use when describing the Muhle R41,IMHO it's more 'assertively designed' to get the job done perfectly, without multiple shaving passes which can cause skin irritation. For most people 2 passes with this assertive frauline will be enough resulting in a silky smooth shave. As for myself my 'rhino skin type' normally needs 3 + a pick up pass for sublime results, plus i like to use up the lather with my shaves.

I also find pairing it up with a non-aggressive blade results in irritation-free comfortable shaves... Good technique, preparation & Shaving Confidence lightest of touch and most importantly Giving this assertive frauline the upmost respect..'as with any razor', she will reward you with sublime shaves.

A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups bbs shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling devine. ;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Well, I have to admit, the Occam's DE is one heck of a shaving tool. I have the full set with both caps and the three plates. The least aggressive plate is apparently a clone of the Muehle R89. I selected the most aggressive plate which appears very similar to the plate on my Eclipse Red Ring. Directions on Classic Shaving's site recommend the use of a Feather blade in this safety razor. So (that's) what I used. I fell back on my favorite soap, MWF and PAA's Preshave Cube coupled with my Viking Silvertip Badger to provide a known ideal lathering platform for my first pass with this new razor. The razor is beautifully balanced in the hand and an incredibly smooth shaver that reminded me of my AS-D2, albeit with a much more generous sweet spot. I understand why people like this razor. Two clean effortless, bloodless passes on the face and one and a half on the dome and (that's) all she wrote! The razor was allegedly designed for new DE shavers. A 316L SS safety razor based on a MIM process with these kind of tolerances, three plates and two caps was an amazing buy for under 65 dollars during their pre-Christmas pricing. This is one excellent shaving tool. I'm really going to be enjoying my shaves with this razor over the next few days. I feel clean, refreshed, and oh so very smooooth!

RAZOR: Classic Shaving's Occam's DE
BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA's Charcoal-Menthol Preshave Cube
BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Mitchell's Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Royall Lyme AS Splash

Sat 11th Jan

The Grosvenor ( 404-mixed )
TBG soap
Occams- Hiram Commander
Feather Pro ( 1 )
TBG 6th sense A/S lotion
My first stand up Shave for a few days now I can stand OK on my leg.Like the Oren very easy to load and Shaves very smoothly, and I reckon that the handle may appeal to those who do not fancy the Oren. The finish is not as close as yesterday with the Enoch. I may try it with a plate 3 from the Oren. Like the Oren it is not good at clearing whiskers around the nostrils.
