Occam,400, Scots 2.JPG

Another great shave with Occam's SE, a great lather from the 1912 & RR400, 2 passes and touch up. 2 tiny weepers on the chin down to me though, I need to get my angles right. The razor feels much more natural in the hand now. A dollop of Floïd balm and a Splash of Floïd Mentolado Vigaroso.
What's not to like?
Have a great night all.

Wednesday evening

Tabac Original
RazoRock BC Silvertip 24mm synth
Gillette Old
Gillette Silver Blue
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Tabac Original after shave

I think the Old may be my favourite vintage DE (although, a Gillette 81 is en route). It is quite heavy and very efficient. The Old also pairs very well with the Gillette Silver Blue blade.

The Tabac, as always, gave a great performance. Skin feels and smells really good.

Gillette Flair Tip Rocket, Gillette Nacet
Hand-carved Beech 2-band
Simpsons Lavender & Vetivert SC
Agua Lavanda Puig
Unrefined Shea Butter

Pretty good although I have to work a bit harder and be more careful with some of my vintage Gillettes as opposed to the more carefree approach of my oh-so-dependable Merkur HD. Opted for shea butter given the heat of the day, being outside gardening for most of it and as usual, it did its job marvellously.

15/05/19

Brush - Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Familia
Pre - Wilko Oil
Razor - EJ DE89
Blade - Rapira Platinum Lux (1)
Soap - Nivea Cream
ASL - Nivea 2 Phase

Having not learnt my lesson from last week, there's a whole lot of new in today's shave.

The DE89 and RPL combination worked fantastically. One of the most comfortable shaves I've had in a long time and a very nice DFS+ finish. The Nivea products also performed brilliantly. I'd describe the cream smell as a neutral clean. Not one for the aroma lovers but a great performer nonetheless.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Brush: Savile Row 3824 Silvertip Badger
Soap: Wholly Kaw Fougère Bouquet
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Scent: Alvarez Gomez Barberia

Donga Shave in the North-West. Very hard water at this camp, and I've typically had lathering issues previously. When you struggle to get lather from Valobra Glycerlanolina, you know you are in for a challenge. As always up here, it takes a long time to build the lather, and typically it is not as dense, nor is it as persistent as when using sweeter water.
To be fair, the Wholly Kaw soap did a pretty good job. Slickness was quite good, and it has a very pleasant scent - certainly a fougère on the sweet side.
All up, I was pretty happy with the shave, given the circumstances, and I continue to be impressed with the Alt Innsbruck Emulsion as an all-in-one pre/post shave product. It does a really good job as a travel product, and has rescued me a few times when my shaves have been less than ideal.
Not wishing to overdue the fragrance on the mine site, I elected for the subtle approach of Alvarez Gomez combing water.
