Soap: random one I got sent a sample of from a TSR member a while back, no clue what it is

What's the deal with soap then? I really don't get it. It took ages to get lather, when it started to form there were huge clumps everywhere. The final lather I used was ok but still had small clumps in as I'd given up trying. At the end I had to use cotton buds to get the gunk out of the grooves in the bowl, and the brush took some rinsing. Is it because it wasn't straight out of a tub? (It was wrapped in a couple of food bags). Answers on a postcard. Enjoying the M1, mild like a DE89 but feels so much better. A pretty idiot proof razor

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: Declaration Grooming Colonia Balsamica
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: TOBS Eton College

Focused on minimal pressure, and was rewarded with an excellent shave. Lather was super-slick and pleasantly fragrant - heady rather than sharp citrus notes. The Eton College cologne matched the soap scent very nicely indeed.

This razor and blade combo is great, BBS and a damn fine shave rolled in one, the Prep is delightful, with a hint of menthol, just enough to notice, and a very smooth extra gliding layer for comfortable shaving. This time i used less water as usual (with Stirling Soaps) to start of the Monarch sample, and miracles of miracle, a nice rich foam was my reward. The Colones des Princes gives a nice support to the Monarch smell (after the peppery start smell was gone), but i would love to find a EDT or AS that has the same smell profile as the Monarch soap!
