Two weeks in for just using Tabac & boar brushes, the last week using a LSP blade in an Old Type/Souplex razor and for the last four days or so I'd say the skin on my face feels the best it has for a while.

A really nice Vintage shave today.
A really slick face lather from the vintage Gibbs cream and Vulfix
I find the PAL Injectomatic really efficient and only planned on 2 passes (and stuck with that) I managed a comfortable DFS+ result.
A nice post shave routine ending with a little sensation from the splash.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

A barely adequate shave this morning. The first pass went well enough, with a reasonable lather from the Zenith brush. I love the handle. Reaching for the brush for the second pass revealed that it had killed the lather. I went back to the tub and re-lathered, producing a better lather than for the first pass. Good stuff. To my astonishment, as I was in the the process of my second pass across the grain, the lather was visibly dying on my face. I hastened the pass, and got away with it, just. This couldn't be more of a contrast to yesterday's shave using the Razorock brush. It's a good thing I know this soap is capable of excellence. I think that the boar bristles have been treated chemically in some way, possibly to counter the boar funk, which transferred into the lather on my face. Thank you @donnie_arko for your cautionary words the other day, I shall waste no further time on this brush, and cast it from the den. I have to conclude that I have neither the skill nor the fortitude to try any more boar brushes...

A shame to hear. It definitely sounds like your breach is the one with bleached bristles. I have two Zenith boar brushes, one with unbleached bristles and the other with bleached bristles. I think the bleaching not only takes away a lot of the pig funk odour but makes the bristles much softer but I'#m not sure why but consequently they seem to eat lather. The unbleached one was very stiff, very scrubby, but very efficient for not eating soap. Zenith seem to favour their bleached bristles the majority of the time.
FWIW, if your brush is like mine it will get better and I can get sometimes get mine to not eat lather but to get to that point it's taken a lot of work!

Yes, I think you're right. It's a pity nice handle, naff knot. I have too many other brushes that work well, and life is too short to struggle unnecessarily with shaving. Another boar hits the bin.

RR 400.SE-Plissoft
Williams Mug Soap
TNNSER-3D
Gem S/S [1]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

I do not understand how these Razors are made , but know I am lucky to have one. One needs to adjust to its lightness, and then without fuss it delivers a good Shave, with the kind of finish only delivered by the best of my Vintage SEs.

Rooney 3/3 Porcelain Finest (26/59)
Penhaligon's Opus 1870 shaving cream
Wolfman WR1-SB Titanium/WRH7 Ti
Wilkinson London Bridge (17)
Ginger's Garden Ginger Blossom aftershave
Ethos Grooming Pineapple Noir (sample)

Since it had been a long while since I used Opus 1870, I wanted to use it by itself; but next time I will add one of my rose absolute/hyrdrosol mixes. The aftershave and EdT sample complemented each other quite well.
