A barely adequate shave this morning.
The first pass went well enough, with a reasonable lather from the Zenith brush. I love the handle. Reaching for the brush for the second pass revealed that it had killed the lather. I went back to the tub and re-lathered, producing a better lather than for the first pass. Good stuff. To my astonishment, as I was in the the process of my second pass across the grain, the lather was visibly dying on my face. I hastened the pass, and got away with it, just. This couldn't be more of a contrast to yesterday's shave using the Razorock brush. It's a good thing I know this soap is capable of excellence.
I think that the boar bristles have been treated chemically in some way, possibly to counter the boar funk, which transferred into the lather on my face. Thank you
@donnie_arko for your cautionary words the other day, I shall waste no further time on this brush, and cast it from the den. I have to conclude that I have neither the skill nor the fortitude to try any more boar brushes...
