Saturday 1st June

Cold Water shave
Heno de Pravia Glycerine Soap
RazoRock Tuscan Oud Soap
VIG Shaving 24mm Pure Badger Brush
Focus R28 Slim-Al with a Gillette/Wilkinson Blade
Witch Hazel
Palmer's Raw Shea Moisturiser
Anfar Oudh Al Qamar EDP

My plans for a shave with a new (to me) razor went out the window. A particularly challenging shift resulted in me sleeping almost 4 hours longer than my norm so I decided to postpone.

2 passes and a touch up for just a tad off BBS....but still a face feeler! The Focus Slim-Al really is a great shaving tool!

My pleasure P. - happy to help. I don't use a pre-shave - other than showering - but given the large amount of glycerin and lanolin in the soap - I can see why it would work. I'm endlessly fascinated that black soap produces white lather - simple things - simple minds. If you need to re-stock - Gemstone Trading sell it for only slightly more than it costs in Spain. In my experience - a good company to deal with. Cheers - I.

@RussellR5555 - I think you may have an issue with Magno - it is tallow based.

That's interesting about the potential tallow issue. I've been having a ...debate, shall we say...on another forum about the qualitative difference between tallow and non-tallow soaps. This evidence seems slightly more rounded than being advised to go search on Google, or claims that I've been given evidence about the differences countless times on this and other forums.

And for today the theme for my shave was 'Wowser'

20190601_194242_001.jpg

Wowser - Ikon B1 SB
Wowser - Polsilver Lodz
Wowser - L'Occitane Cade
Wowser - L'Occitane Cade aftershave balm
Wowser - ADP Blu Mediterraneo Bergamot

And a pre shave wash with my newly purchased Bath House Spanish fig and nutmeg soap. Wowser!

And the shave? Wowser Wowser Wowser!

Thanks Iain - Much Appreciated.
It's great soap.....currently use it but I intend to alternate with the Magno. Russell.....go for the selection pack. The Spanish soaps are excellent and great value for money
@RussellR5555 - you might consider the Heno de Pravia glycerin as a pre-shave - I know that @culcreuch rates this soap highly.

Yours - I.
Really good and lasts longer than Pears. I am afraid you have nudged me towards Spanish 'stuff' Iain ( @Digimonkey ). I have fallen for it 'hook, line, and sinker'

Sotd - last Thursday -

Excellent - back in Laconic mode - it should be capitalised? Like 'Delphic' or 'beyond the Pale.' Enjoy your shaves - even if you are not a pedant - like me. Yours - I.

Oh - the most interesting thing I learned last week - do you know - without searching online - the country in the world that has the highest rate of immigration?
