E2,Gibbs, Cul.jpg

Pre shave prep: Pears Transparent Lemon Flower
Brush: Vintage Butterscotch Culmak 1950
Soap: NOS Vintage GIBBS 1950's
Razor: Schick E3 1936-45
Blade: Personna Injector
Post Shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel with added oils
Balm: Gucci by Gucci
Aftershave: Old Spice Classic

1st shave of a Vintage/Veteran week remembering all those involved in D-Day. Thank you.
I really enjoy these Vintage Razors, the E2 works as well today as the day it left the factory, a really close comfortable shaver.
I nice lather mixed up with the Culmak Plus and the Gibbs cream, surprisingly it still has its scent which is clean and fresh, i used about 1" of cream and it lathered up beautifully into a slick 4 pass plus lather. I love using this brush, strong but soft and great on the face.
I decided to give the Lemon Flower another go as the lather was very rich, no issues, therefore the other week was probably down to my weak lather. So Far so good.
A really comfy 3 pass shave all ways, i would have got away with 2 passes and touch up, however, as i had the lather rather than touching up i completed a XTG pass.
Some indication from the block on the neck, probably down to poor technique, a splash of cold water then on with the witch hazel while i cleaned up the tools and workstation.
A dollop of Gucci balm and a splash of Old Spice sport, what's not to like.
Have a great weekend all.

Aaaaaand I've got razor burn... I think the lather on my third pass must have become too watered (plus my enthusiastic last pass!).

Any tips to get it healed quickly?

A cold water face rinse, followed by a respectable dollop of Aloe Vera Gel. This will instantly help the razor burn.

Saturday SOTD

Pre - La Toja Mango Soap
Brush - YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Soap - Squadron Red Lead
Razor - Wilkinson Sword Classic TTO
RapIra (2)
Balm - L'oreal Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap Balm
Aftershave -Old Spice ASL

What a difference a razor makes . . .
The RapIra blade on it's first use in my Ikon 101 was very mild, so much so that during the first pass I couldn't detect any blade feel whatsoever. In the Wilkinson TTO blade feel was very apparent throughout the shave.
I took plenty of time and with a light touch I managed to get through my shave without mishap.

La Toja Mango and Red Lead Soap are both top quality products, and I have @Digimonkey and @TomG to thank for these.

Enjoy the weekend everyone !

My pleasure P. - happy to help. I don't use a pre-shave - other than showering - but given the large amount of glycerin and lanolin in the soap - I can see why it would work. I'm endlessly fascinated that black soap produces white lather - simple things - simple minds. If you need to re-stock - Gemstone Trading sell it for only slightly more than it costs in Spain. In my experience - a good company to deal with. Cheers - I.

@RussellR5555 - I think you may have an issue with Magno - it is tallow based.

Thank you Iain

Sorry @RussellR555 , I didn't know it has a tallow base

Pre - Soap Free Face Wash
Brush - Omega 11819 (24mm/55mm unbleached boar)
Soap - Arko
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Personna Platinum Chrome (3)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Benjamins Bay Rum

First time using my new Omega 11819 brush and what a let down it was. It has the same knot as the 10066 etc brushes, 24mm knot & 55mm high loft, and it's a brush I have read has good backbone and scrub. My 11819 however was incredibly floppy, and it's on it's first day as well - it worked fine to produce a lather aside from shedding 3 bristles but didn't have any scrub or much backbone.

I'm somewhat dissapointed with the 4 Omega boar brushes I have owned. One 80265 was truly terrible, the other 80265 excellent and of the 2 new ones I recently bought the 10075 seems ok so far and the 11819 less so. I was expecting a bit more than a 50% quality. Do Omega boars generally have this kind of quality control? I know a lot of it is down to differences in boar hair, but it's a bit of a let down nonetheless.

The shave itself was a very good one. Now that summer is in full force (for however it lasts is another issue!) I'm finding my face is much greasier than usually, so I'm finding it good to use a pre shave facial wash and the need to use a balm post shave is less necessary than in the winter.

A good long rinse with cold water followed by some light balm such as L'oreal Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap
I had the 2 year old hanging off me and only had one thing to hand - Aveeno moisturising lotion. Amazing! It cleared it in /uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190601/142de8de1215fe32a3d0bafd1fe037d5.jpg[/IMG]
